indy
Just to clarify one point, the area i am making the new discoveries in is not the site that I excavated with Channel 4's Time Team, it is a new area that i pointed out to the team but they never went near it ?? indy
Yes I have them to hand and have been studying them closely in the past day or so and i do have a feature, it looks more Iron Age with a possible Banjo enclosure ...... the find spots do echo the feature. More finds will hopefully confirm the origins of the site soon. The overall aerial pics seem to indicate iron age/early Roman ... The stone carving also heralds from the very same site .... observer
Were the coins scattered or found in a "stash"? It was the practise to bury one's treasure when fleeing violence, in order to return to reclaim it.
indy
Scattered, but that can be caused by ploughing .........
