Paul Kennedy
True, but that's what stops it getting tooooo boring. What's the alternative? a dictatorship? we tried that with Bliar, is that what we want? How about a Liberal mess That wouldn't be the correct description, it would be "Liberal Disaster". Sha
Let's face it they're all c***! What we really need is a REVOLUTION!!!
Paul Kennedy
And end up with what exactly.
Lt Kije
A Liberal State based on the individual
Sha
What we should have is a fair and balanced society maintained with an honest management and based on common sense. There's only a small minority who run the present system, the self serving politicians and the fat cats (some of whom are one and the same) who maintain the current chaos for their own ends and means. Get rid of them and we could have a far more productive and far pleasanter society. Think we should start with the Liberals.
Eagle
Yep I agree get rid of the Liberals first.
Lt Kije
What we should have is a fair and balanced society maintained with an honest management and based on common sense. You stand more chance of getting that with the Liberals than you do under any other party. Labour are a mess, And the Tory party are the party of exploitation
observer
An interesting debate which exposes the nature of our indecisive and unrepresentative system. There is a clear schism between majority public opinion (albeit generally mis-informed and press stimulated), and the arrogance of politicians who dismiss popular opinion and pursue their own (generally liberal) agendas regardless. EG: Any referenda on Capital Punishment: Membership of the EU: Immigration and Assylum Policy: Afghanistan etc etc - would probably deliver results contrary to the agendas of our political class - so where do we go from there? Bazj
ours was rubbish compared to their though..... we never dreamed up a whole execution concept just to lop off the heads of the aristocracy!! I'd start with Brown and then make alister darling dye his hair to match his eyebrows and then chop his bloody head off!!
Paul Kennedy
ours was rubbish compared to their though..... we never dreamed up a whole execution concept just to lop off the heads of the aristocracy!! And interestingly when they did away with that aristocracy, a new lot took their place, and whilst they didn't have such fancy titles as that would have been provocative, they nevertheless were a new aristocracy....the clue being in the prefix of d' before their surname. Rifles
I do not think its any parties politics which is the problem. In all honesty all the main parties come up with outstanding policies, before an election. The problem being is nobody believes politicians on an individual level. When they start spouting off , were going to do this were going to do that, people do not believe them ..... and rightly so. Lets face it most are liars and full of shit. observer
You mean sort of anal retentive Rifles?! Let's have it right: politicians exist to get elected; in order to do that, they will do and say anything to win votes. In order to do that, they try to appease every colour of opinion, which inevitably reduces their options when they do get in power. In other words, a particularly decisive and progressive manifesto is least likely to win majority support as it would threaten the status quo and powerfull self interests within the land.
