observer
Can't see how the employment of mercenary gladiators, to do our playing for us, bestows any pride or honour onto the Town - it merely underlines how we've become a nation of sports watchers rather than players - still don't let me rain on the parade! KeithR
At the end of the day Warrington as a town is being represented in a major national event being broadcast live around the world As a matter of interest, how many countries actually show the Challenge cup final on TV? I would have thought about half a dozen at the most but hey what do I know.
safeway56
Regarding sport we are now living in global village..How many Englishmen play for the top four Premier League football clubs ? Not many is the answer. The stadium is on Winwick Road, are you suggesting the club be only represented by players born and bred on Winwick Road ? We all cheered the other day when England stuffed the Aussies in the Test Match despite three of the *English* players who are, in fact, South African. observer
Exactly, so it's a joke - more for entertainment and profit, than any sense of local or national pride.
