Davy51 Posted May 21, 2009 Report Posted May 21, 2009 Following a police investigation a catalogue of child abuse stretching back 70 years has been exposed within the Irish Catholic church & its affilated childrens homes. At last the police & child abuse investigators have managed to penetrate the bigoted organisation's cover up & expose hypocrisy throughout the Irish Catholic church ,however charges are not likely to be brought. But why should the perpetrators of these crimes not be punished...these so called trusted men of the cloth are criminals & should be brought to account ,not allowed to hide behind their robes or standing in the community. Quote
Bazj Posted May 21, 2009 Report Posted May 21, 2009 Why bother with the investigation in the first place if they are not going to act on their findings? A total waste and a total travesty. The perverts should be brought to book and jailed for life Quote
de-stress Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 I know one of the ladies that suffered in the care homes and she said only one of the nuns has been brought to book. You're right it is disgusting and I'm ashamed to be Catholic..If you couldn't trust nuns and priests..who could you trust Quote
Davy51 Posted May 22, 2009 Author Report Posted May 22, 2009 Apparently the situation has been investigated in the past ,but the power of the Irish church ensured that the police findings were suppressed & no further action taken. What makes matters worse is these deviants were held in so much awe & were trusted so much by their victims that they were handed absolute power over the innocents who had no way of protesting & in due course probably accepted the situation as normal. Worryingly, i have seen very little media coverage of this scandal that could destroy the Irish Catholic church...let's hope it is not being suppressed again. Quote
observer Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 Perhaps a return to the Inquisition and Star Chamber could erradicate the pervs ? Quote
Davy51 Posted May 22, 2009 Author Report Posted May 22, 2009 Be interesting to see what stance the Vatican takes on this unless the Roman Catholic church in general is rife with this perverted behaviour. Quote
Bazj Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 The vatican will take its usual stance and shove its fingers in its ears and say a few hail Marys and hope it all goes away.... This one is nearly as bad as electing a pope who was a German anti aircraft gunner during the war!! Quote
Grumpy old man Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 This thread seems to be taking a very anti catholic stance. Something terrible has happened and the victims have been children. Something should be done to bring the perpetrators of this crime to justice. Please let the law take its course. The catholic church, amongst others, offers many services that actually protect children. Can you put your tar brushes down. Quote
Bazj Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 Oh yes... I'll put the tar brush down because of course this is a totally isolated one off incident concerning priests and nuns? Do me a favour GOM. I was expressing an opinion, I wasn't taking an anti Catholic stance because to be perfectly honest all religion to my mind is a total load of tosh anyway. Quote
Grumpy old man Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 Fair comment Baz. I don't want to change your views. Grumpy. Quote
Grumpy old man Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 Please let me apologise. I got on my high horse and shouldn't have. From some years back I have an experience of catholic rescue. It has led to people being rejuvenated back into life by being with families, many of my family, cousins, are because of this. My oldest grandaughter has access to her Father through St. Josephs contact centre at Museum St. The nuns that run that place do so much for our community, you just couldn't match it. Sorry for ranting. Quote
Peter T Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 Understandable. The "churches" have been a disappointment for many years, and when we get this abuse yet AGAIN and KNOW nothing will happen, it gets somewhat frustrating. Quote
observer Posted May 23, 2009 Report Posted May 23, 2009 " suffer little children to come unto me" - errm, no fanx! Quote
Lt Kije Posted June 3, 2009 Report Posted June 3, 2009 What a day I agree with Baz, Obs and Peter T, Baz your posts on this I agree with word for word Quote
tara_dad Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 Grumpy old man You have got nothing to apologise for. you tell its how you feel, you know you have been there, we have not well most. so you just tell it how it is and how you feel no holds bard. I do not Agree with you as the catholic church as done more harm to children than any other just remember children from Ireland years ago. Taken just because they where in one parent families and beaten in homes run by the church as well as other things Quote
Bazj Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 What a day I agree with Baz, Obs and Peter T, Baz your posts on this I agree with word for word Bugger Quote
Bazj Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 He is isn't he? I don't know, but he might have done Quote
observer Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 Seems, judging by the case of the starved child, that kids can't even trust some parents nowadays. Quote
