Jerry
Just a note to tell lovers of that old romantic chestnut that Andre Previn and John Caird have wrought an opera out of it for the Houston stage, for starters. I've been led to believe it is quite good. I hope it travels to the Los Angeles area. Previn recycled the Rachmaninoff Second Concerto, added some Vaughn Williams pastoral sounds and some ? Russianisms. If I've interpreted the Times review correctly.
