observer
What's the best lap-top on the market - needs to be simple but with loads of memory?

observer
You've already exposed my ignorance on these matters - just want something that can take any strategy game.
Evil Sid
always worth having a look on pc world web site to get some ideas. if you need a lot of disk space you could always invest in an external hard drive. depends on what sort of price you want to pay. they have one for about ?400.00 that has 3gb memory, 250gb hard drive and a 17" screen. similar products in curry's and comet. for a similar price. observer
Saw one in "Comet" - think it was called ACER; made in China no doubt?!
asperity
ACER are made in Taiwan, my last one was an ACER and it was okay, my mum uses it now.
Bazj
Buy one with a fast processor and large hard drive in the first instance. You can always add additional memory to increase the processing speed but you can as easily change the other two. Acer machines are generally good entry level machines although they do higher spec models. Make sure you get a decent warranty to cover the laptop because they are almost impossible to fix as you cannot access the internals as easy as a normal PC
