Geoffrey Settle
It's purely international business and to be expected these days.
Peter T
A large number of Premier clubs are owned by foreigners. And this little snippet was mentioned weeks ago.

observer
It just struck me as rather ironic, that AIG has been bailed out (and btw they can't trace where all this bail out money is going); and the poor cash strapped company can afford a ?125million sponsorship deal with Man U! observer
Nice to see that sponsorship money is going to a good cause; allowing players to write off their sports cars!
Peter T
Nice to see that sponsorship money is going to a good cause; allowing players to write off their sports cars! I thought he was helping the car industry.
AdrianR
Italian car industry though. However his replacement car was a Bentley built at Crewe or shoudl I say assembled. ?200k car - 2 weeks wages?
asperity
Ronaldo told the police the reason he crashed was because the wall wasn't 10 yards back!
observer
So I guess they'll fine the wall for being "off side"!
wolfie
The car only touched the wall slightly but overturned 3 times, landing on it's back with the horn blaring.
Bazj
Wouldn't it be ironic if the car wasn't insured seeing as an insurance company are the team sponsors!!??
observer
Seems AIG are now going to pull their sponsorship by 2010., suppose Man U will be looking for an Arab Sheik?!
Gary
Seems AIG are now going to pull their sponsorship by 2010., suppose Man U will be looking for an Arab Sheik?! They'll find another mug!
Paul Kennedy
I think that's right, but given the tough times, maybe not as generous as the last mug. There was a documentary on last night, and the former elderly boss/founder of AIG was interviewed, he said he had lost a couple of $billion but was alright and was more worried by others who had lost money. Guess he must look in horror at what others have done to the company he founded.
Peter T
Perhaps Warrington-worldwide might be interested?
KeithR
Or just rely on their existing sponsors including -Saudi Telecom, Budweiser, Seoul Metropolitan Government, Swiss watch manufacturers Hublot, Audi, Nike, Smirnoff, Bet Fred, Khumo, Viagogo etc. I have no doubt that others will be queueing up to sponsor the English - European - and World Champions
wolfie
?125m Deal Fits For RedsUnited are out to land a new ?125million shirt sponsorship deal - with Saudi Telecom, favourites to get their name on the famous shirt. A blessing in disguise AIG dropping out
