observer
Is this anything to do with the "new love" initiative?!
STiW
Hi Obs, No the Stronger Together in Warrington Project is totally seperate from that campaign. The government have funded Stronger Together in Warrington to form a neighbourhood involvement team which aims to help individuals, service users and groups tell us how things work best in their area and then support services and groups to respond to these local needs. The areas which we cover are: - Bewsey - Dallam - Greater Blackbrook - Longford - Grasmere and Greenwood What do we do? - liaise between partners, communities and individuals, helping to get every voice heard - support community activity and help groups to network with other groups working for the benefit of the area - help you find solutions to any problems you have - help groups access funding and training - work with your community helping you improve the place where you and your family live - act as facilitators/ mediators helping communities to identify needs, priorities and aspirations - working with partners to re-shape service delivery where possible to better meet community priorities. Peter T
How is your pilot scheme going to work alongside the NEW Neighbour Management Scheme that is being rolled out? Won't it be a case of two groups replicating things as it is some time before your scheme comes to an end?
observer
Isn't this the problem with this kind of initiative: several groups trying to do the same or similar schemes, some led by egos?!

Peter T
When they had the full quota of 9, they did. Now they find it a lot harder, but I believe that the new initiative will work alongside the CDO's, bringing more resources and expertise to the table. Agamemnon1
Hi Peter The CDO team in Warington has been expanded, Unfortunatly the new CDO,s are issue based and not patch based and therefore are not doing the job they should be doing, which is engaging with all the community. Peter T
But it was the damage done in between, that caused a huge vacuum, and resulted in volunteers and residents losing interest. Plus Stiw evolving and replicating the CDO's rather than adding the people and monies.
Bazj
Why is it that when me and my mates grew up in Bewsey, we never had initiatives and help groups and volunteers and god knows what else, most of us grew up to be balanced individuals with a good work ethic and social values gained just from our own hard work and contributions from our parents and teachers etc. (granted a few took the wrong path but there wern't too many) Now however; even with all the doo gooders and grants and helpers and special care and heaven knows what other stuff; Bewsey seems to be full of scallys all out to make a fast buck from doing as little as possible? I still have to go there every day to see my mum and I have had course to drive there at 3 and 4 in the morning.... there are suprisingly no police cars and quite a few dark skulky figures creeping around... or maybe my impressions are wrong? observer
You can lead horses to water, but you can't make them drink!
Bazj
precisely, but if you put that water behind a locked door, the horse will always find a way in if he is wearing a baseball cap and has a name like Kyle!
