Eagle
...on the tumble in the box by the Liverpool captain. Don't you scousers ever call any player from any other team when you have got the biggest cheat in the game , yes bigger that Ronaldo. Apart from that it was a very good game to watch. wolfie
Can't comment Eagle, as I never watch Poo And on the odd occasion I did many years ago I use to fall asleep.
Gary
Didn't see it Eagle as I was watching real live football at the field of dreams. From what I have heard it wasn't a penalty but Gerrard didn't dive just fell over really! But Liverpool should have had a penalty earlier on for a handball incident and deserved at least a draw on the balance of play.
Matty
Blatant gamesmanship, at least the boot was on the other foot this time. edit to post pic

disgusted
From what I have heard it wasn't a penalty but Gerrard didn't dive just fell over really! . As you'll see above, it's another of his dives. Biggest cheat in the game in my eyes, made worse by his hypocritical spoutings on not diving. wolfie
Blatant gamesmanship, at least the boot was on the other foot this time. edit to post pic I think his right knee was a little low to qualify as a 'Forward Dive in the Pike Position'
Gary
Now having studied this I think you can clearly see the defender has eyeballled Gerrard and decided you ain't going to head that ball mate so I am going to body check you. Clearly a penalty!
Eagle
Gerrard spotted the penalty opportunity when he started his run, the fact that a defender was in close proxim ity made it slightly less embarrassing.
P J
how sad. It was a very soft penalty but by the rules of the game a penalty none the less. He got to the ball first and was shoved in the back whilst in the air. Anywhere else on the pitch its a foul and no whinging. There is a world of difference between going down under contact and diving, then if Ronaldo is one of your heros I doubt you would agree. The hand ball prior to this penalty was as blatant as it comes but not given, and I think the ref was probably guilty of making amends for an earlier mistake which is wrong but it goes on. If it helps Eagle I probably would not have given a penalty but I wouldn't have booked Gerrard for diving as he didn't.
Eagle
I agree PJ, Gerrard wasn't diving he was flying. I find your reference to Ronaldo an attempt to deflect criticism from Gerrard but lets face it they are both cheating bar stewards.
KeithR
He went down screaming to heaven as if he had been hit by a road roller. He is a cheat and always has been. The fact that Ronaldo is also a cheat as nothing to do with it.
asperity
As a neutral observer (well an Evertonian anyway ) I would say that Gerrard committed the foul because he flew in with no intention of going for the ball whereas the defender was attempting to head it. To say that the defender had eyeballed Gerrard is stupid talk because defenders are supposed to look around for likely threats and deal with them. I would be prepared to give Gerrard the benefit of the doubt and say that it was a fifty/fifty ball and not book him!!!!

Eagle
You have to get into the opposition box to get one.
P J
I find your reference to Ronaldo an attempt to deflect criticism from Gerrard Eagle you put the following quote in the opening post of this thread which was your reference to Ronaldo. I am simply responding to this. "Don't you scousers ever call any player from any other team when you have got the biggest cheat in the game , yes bigger that Ronaldo. wolfie
Looks like the criminal fraternity got it's wish for Rafa to stop his rotation policy when Lucas Leiva became the club's latest in a long line of players to be burgled while he was playing against Atletico Madrid.
