Big Brother?

Seems this Government want's to create a central data base, with all phone records transfered into it: phone records are currently held by the phone companies, mobile phone records can trace your location at any time your phone switched on. There's the ?5billion still earmarked for ID cards - despite the recession; and it seems we have more CCTV cameras in the UK than any other European Nation. They're still trying to get all our medical records on IT, despite a failed IT system; so they can be included in this amassing of data. Seems they're now considering an eCAF form, based on answers given by children, without their parents knowledge; and the DNA data base is being topped up with each and every arrest. Information is power, something that our rulers have realised since the Doomsday Book was created by William the Conquerer. SO; are you relaxed on the basis, that "if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear" OR do you fear this progression into an Orwellian nightmare?

The latter.

None of the things that are happening or about to happen will stop crime etc. taking place because the perpetrators live in a different world to normal people. So lets stop wasting time and money and get on with things that benefit the country and it's citizens.

Obs we are were we are for whatever reason and you can arue it which ever way you want we are now looking forward.

Measures are being put in place and this will take time as most changes do. The appraoch appears to be a sensible one and is broken down into stages. There is no big bang appraoch.

The world is a much more fluid market place from when you were at work and people are able to travel and work all over the world with a great deal more opportunity than they have ever had.

To prejudge the start of a longterm solution is a bit premature but I think that it is a move in the right direction. Hopefully the civil service will get a grip and this time put the appropriate check and balance in place.

The Aussies seem to have a firm grip maybe we could learn a few tips from their premier Mr 07, 24/7 and now 747? :D

If you travel to USA now, they want your fingerprints and iris scan.

I don't think that will stop a "once through" suicide bomber!

In the meantime, we all get treated like criminals having our dabs etc taken for that big database no doubt shared with UK Govt and accessed by all and sundry or left on a train somewhere.
