safeway56
Non scientific poll which has just been taken on another forum shows that out of 134 fans voting 20% of them won't be renewing their season tickets next season. Bearing in mind that these fans are dyed in the wool Wire supporters it should be very worrying for the club. It can only be a matter of time before the salary cap will be reduced due to falling support through the turnstiles leading to a downward spiral in the club's fortunes. There's no quick fix for this due to the injudicious awarding of cash rich long term contracts. The only hope is that some of our no-hopers on the playing staff have the decency to fall on their own swords. By the standards which decided who got the franchises Warrington RLFC was deemed to be one of the top three clubs. It seemed that off the pitch activities were considered to be just as important as to what happens on the pitch. I beg to differ. The only yardstick which the ordinary fans make judgements by is what's on offer playing wise. If I wanted to have a wedding reception or my blood pressure and cholesterol levels taken I would go to one of the many fine hotels in the area or visit my GP or hospital. The priority at the Halliwell Jones Stadium should the be football on offer not junkets and well men clinics. When it was proposed that Wire and Widnes merge 11 years ago I was so furious I went down to Wilderspool and threw my season ticket across the desk at Paul Cullen. It was a heartbreaking time for supporters like myself who have supported the club over many decades. We transferred our loyalties to the HJ. which in effect was a new sporting club. Hope sprang eternal that it would be a success but tragically it's turning into another heartbreak, and you know what ? I'm beginning to not care less. I've lost the loyalty I once had and if the club goes belly up I just wouldn't be all that bothered.

safeway56
Bejaysus !! Latch has fallen for the *next season* bullshine !! If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you, If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, But make allowance for their doubting too; If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, Or being lied about, don't deal in lies, Or being hated, don't give way to hating, And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise: If you can dream - and not make dreams your master; If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim; If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster And treat those two impostors just the same;
