Observer II
As expected the Tories complained that Liebour lied by omission, by not saying how high taxes would rise, prior to the election. Taxes are now at their highest level ever. However, it may be more constructive if political attention is focused on how and where these taxes are being spent. With immigration increasing demands on public services, with £millions being spent on accomodation for the illegal entrants alone; with £billions being spent on third world climate initiatives, funding to Ukraine for the pensions of Zelensky and Co; £billions on net-zero initiatives etc, surely if this drain were cancelled; there wouldn't be a need for such a high tax burden ? Alas, both the Tories and Liebour are incapable of taking the decisions necessary to end these burdens on the British people. 😠
ninearches
The country is crying out for politicians who put Britain first ,& so are the voters.
Observer II
Seems "the markets" aren't impressed with the budget either, we now have next to the lowest growth in the G7, and not likely to change with it's punitive attack on buisiness. With increases in NI on small employers, one wonders whether they will contract out employment to the black market, giving illegals a job ? Confused52
A problem is getting people into work so they increased the minimum wage 6.7%. From an employers perspective the costs of employing a new member of staff on the minimum wage have gone up by 10.3% because of the Increase in the minimum wage and changes to NI. The employee sees a net increase of 5.5% in take home pay. That is supposed to grow the economy!
Observer II
Just wonder whether it's just incompetance by amateur ideologues or a deliberate attempt to ruin the Country ? I hear that Starmer was once on an MI5 watch list, which suggests the Manchurian Candidate hypothesis could be valid ! 😉
