Observer II
I believe ASLEF donated a £million to Liebour , and are now rewarded with a pay rise, paid by the tax-payers. the wage rise will allow more money to be donated to Liebour; so in effect, the Liebour Party is being funded by the tax payers of the UK. Sounds corrupt to me.
ninearches
Doctors & railwaymen are definitely getting a golden thank you off Labour . No doubt Honours for Mick Lynch will follow.
Observer II
But aren't they threatening more strikes ?
ninearches
I think the new strikes are about different issues.
Bill
They’re already earning over £80,000 a year for a four-day week after this last pay deal and still think it’s right to strike again within a few weeks. If we can believe that it’s possible to have self-driving vehicles on our busy and congested roads then then it’s got to be a million times easier to have a self-driving train on rails. I reckon the train drivers know this will probably come about at some point in the future and they’re just grabbing what they can while they can. Observer II
At £80k they're catching up with the MPs, who will want to maintain the differential ! 😉
Observer II
Thought the majority of donations to the Liebour Party came from the Trade Unions, but it seems they've been taken over by Corporate donors now, such as Lord Sainsbury, who gave them over a £million. Judging by the policies being enacted by Rachel Reeves, could Liebour be attempting to out Tory the Tories, when their working class members were expecting the rich to be taxed more - "from each according to their means, to each according to their needs". ninearches
Definitely no longer interested in the downtrodden masses on which the Labour movement was based . The Labour MPs have long since shaken off the cloak of their predecessors & have realised how lucrative their careers can be without the need of sticking to principles that the party was founded on.
