The Election ?

Recommended Posts

Can anyone guess what the turnout will be, what percentage of support Labour will get in order to be gifted a super-majority in Parliament; and all without any substantial policies to offer, or their wooden Leader to backtrack on, if questioned.  Seems things will have to get a lot worse before the political lemmings change their voting habits.

As a matter of interest ,what would happen if voter apathy made the election such that not one vote was registered ? I don't suppose the present government would still be in office as Parliament has been dissolved.

I think it would be safe to say, that that is an impossibilty.   It might be interesting if voting was made compulsory,  as more folk would be inclined to take it out on the main parties, thus bolstering the none of the above independants.   There's a simple way to bring an element of PR into our elections,  simply scrap the House of Lords, and replace it with an elected chamber of 100 Senators,  elected in direct proportion to the votes at a GE.     😑

Constitutionally the present Government would remain in power. The next Prime Minister is invited by the King to form a government when the monarch believes that person has sufficient majority support in the House of Commons to be able to govern on behalf of His Majesty. As regards each seat they would all have been dead heats so according to the rules they would be decided by the drawing of lots. A true gambler's election! It is impossibly unlikely but rules exist to cover even that circumstance.

Such a change would make things more factional than at present. Single Labour will have a stonking majority but likely with a minority of the total votes cast it would lead to US style paralysis with the rate at which legislation could be passed would be minimal. This idea works only in your head not the real world.

Think you need to wake up and smell the coffee -   we no longer have "factions" in the old sense of political parties, as the two main parties are two cheeks of the same ass, as in the US, a uni-party.   We now have a global political elite, commited to de-nationalising the nation state,  destroying indigenous cultures,  by flooding us with migrants and imposing draconian self harm through net-zero, which will wreck our economy.  Alas the worm is turning, the WWC are moving to the right in the EU, and it will happen here when we've tasted 5 years of woke Labour dictatorship.   So there is a case for changing our constitutional model to reflect the majority opinion.

You cannot download the Labour manifesto. I suggest this is an attempt to make sure that most of us have no idea against what the charlatans should be held to account. Reform has the same problem.

Most parties have more factions than you shake a stick at, with many having more in common with some in other parties than their own. The global political elite stuff is nonsense, the effect of global corporations is not - but they do not want to de-nationalise the state. They just want treating the same every everywhere fairly without special treatment for some countries. The EU is a real pain if you aren't based there, mainly because of the French.

The majority of politicians are basically careerists, without a belief in their body,  Starmer is a prime example,  a fresh u-turn every week.   When PM, he'll be off to Davos to meet Soros, Bliar and Co, to get his orders.  The only losers in this are the indigenous populations of Europe, which are seeing their national cultures destroyed by immigration, bolstering the ethnic vote for Labour.   These middle class woke fanatics, won't be happy until we're all multi-gendered, bike riding, vegans, worshiping the world government they aspire to.  😠

And right on queue - Angela Rayner has just announced that each and every Borough (Council), will have to take it's "share" of migrants; which tells us that they are planning an amnesty for all migrants, illegal or otherwise, and increases in Council tax to pay for it.   Those voting Labour have only themselves to blame. 😠
