Woody Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 Good to be back 'up north', lol. Many more local derbies, but what will our local derby be?, Trafford, Woodley, SALFORD? Quote
Gary Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 North is where I wanted to be - bigger crowds, less travelling expenses and a tougher league. If we get promoted from this league we have a good chance of staying in the Unibon Premier - an easier passage from the South c ould result in relegation after just one season. Quote
Paul Kennedy Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 Not a football fan except for WTFC , but seems like great news to me. Quote
wolfie Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 If Warrington becomes a City will Warrington Town change their name?? Quote

I hope there will be some bigger crowds at Cantilever Park next season. We may even be playing Halifax Town in the league if they get demoted so that should attract some support. Quote

Ok, as a non-league novice, can someone explain why Warrington have gone from south to north, and what these comments about staying in the premier mean? I am baffled? Quote
Gary Posted May 16, 2008 Report Posted May 16, 2008 Last season Warrington were in the southern division of the unibond league - this year we have been moved where we belong to the north. If we get promoted we will go in the Unibond premier, just three steps from the football league. Quote
warrington15 Posted May 16, 2008 Author Report Posted May 16, 2008 The 3 teams that were relegated from the prem are all southern teams also teams were coming in from the midlands league and with Alasger & Bridlington being relegated this season Warrington & Colwyn Bay were brought back to the North Quote
disgusted Posted May 16, 2008 Report Posted May 16, 2008 Cheers guys, just found this http://www.thepyramid.info/asp/pyramid3.asp which helps. So basically, at the end of the season the 40 teams at this level are split on a geographical basis regardless of whether they played north or south last season. I must admit I was mystified by the "south" bit last year Roll on August, I'm cancelling SKY sports, and not renewing my Reebok ST, now there's dedication Quote
Gary Posted May 16, 2008 Report Posted May 16, 2008 You woill be made more than welcome by the every growing Warrington Town Barmy Army! Quote
wolfie Posted May 16, 2008 Report Posted May 16, 2008 If we get promoted we will go in the Unibond premier, just three steps from the football league. Same division as FC United (Unless they get promoted again - 4 years on the bounce) Quote
Eagle Posted May 16, 2008 Report Posted May 16, 2008 Where do Town stand now relative to Leigh RMI who have been relegated again, have they swapped places? Quote
chriswolves Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 Where do Town stand now relative to Leigh RMI who have been relegated again, have they swapped places? No, Leigh RMI are one league ahead onf Warrington in the UniBond Premier League. Quote
Eagle Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 So they will swap places next season then? Quote
timpri Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 Just wonding why we seem to have a link up with leigh, have we had any dealing with are other local clubs (e.g Altrinham, Macclesfield, Runcorn and northwich). In terms of frienlies it might be cool to link up with these clubs. Gaffer could see if any of there unsettled players want to come to the mighty town and the whole team can test themselves! Quote
