Observer II Posted February 19, 2022 Report Posted February 19, 2022 Traditionally, the Tories have always believed in "small Government", low levels of public servants paid for by people's taxes. Apparently the Civil Service has expanded with Brexit and the Pandemic and it's fallen to Rees-Mogg to thin it down. No doubt this will involve a battle of wills between Gov and Civil Service Chiefs, who measure their success in terms of the size of their Departments - so good luck with that one Jacob ! Has we've seen, we seem to have a reluctance in the Civil Service to doing what they are told; EG the UKBF and now the Royal Navy's refusal to turn back migrants crossing the Channel, which is estimated to sky rocket this Summer. So Priti has employed the master mind behind the succesfull Australian system, but without a compliant work force, I fail to see how progress will be made. So let's try thinking outside the box: the Russians and the USA, employ military contractors for various special tasks, where legalities can be obscured and plausible deniability can be used by Gov. So, sack all the woke managers in the UKBF, and privatise it, hopefully with a workforce commited to turn around. Then we have this idea of "off shoring" application centres for asylum; but we have such centres all over the world, they're called UK Embassies, where applications can be vetted and visas issued to genuine applicants. However, the root cause of our difficulties is HR legislation, which urgently needs revision with a new Act of Parliament, and we must leave the ECHR asap. So the balls in Priti's court and it's time she got a grip. 😠 Quote

Until she is replaced we shall just be treading water (no pun intended 😁) Quote
Observer II Posted February 20, 2022 Author Report Posted February 20, 2022 The problem is imo, there is no conviction in our politics, from the PM - the Gov - Parliament; they don't believe in Brexit, and merely pay lip service to it with bull-st. The opposition are now seeking a joint strategy for the next election, and the price will be attempts to rejoin the EU; which will cost us a shed load of money and enforce the Euro on us, and allow France to dump it's migrants on us in the name of free movement. 😠 Quote
