observer
Rememember the New Labour spin? Well, far from fairer, we have the biggest wealth gap in modern times, with a projected increase in ?millionaires of 60%. Meanwhile, our heroic soldiers are having to by food with vouchers, as they are now virtually on the poverty line, seems the Government arn't too thankfull for services rendered. observer
It was an item om ceefax/teletext yesterday; think Gen Dannet was refering to the plight of married soldiers families? We already know that they are living in sub-standard married quarters, and many are now leaving cos they can't cope financially.
demelzadoe
A highly sensitive internal report into the state of the British Army has revealed that many soldiers are living in poverty. Some are so poor that they are unable to eat and are forced to rely on emergency food voucher schemes set up by the Ministry of Defence (MoD). Some of Britain's most senior military figures reacted angrily yesterday to the revelations in the report, criticising the Government's treatment of its fighting forces. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/exclusive-report-soldiers-need-loans-to-eat-report-reveals-825928.html
observer
Plus, when you get home, missing a limb or two, a Government Minister will pat you on the back for a photo call.

It turned out 1 nurse was asking premiership players to donate some of their pay to help a nurses benevolent fund, nothing to do with pay at all. observer
Not the same - we're talking soldiers not nurses. As for the nurses one, methinks your trying a little historical revisionism. Mind you, plently of that to come with all the New Labour memoirs - the rats arn't just deseeting a sinking ship, their killing each other in the rush!
