Dizzy
Anyone know what all the current road works on the A56 Chester Road / Daresbury Express Way island junction is all about An awful lot of cones and activity in the area and it looks like the small stretch of the road is being widened for something. How odd.
Peter T
Allegedly, there were quite a few accidents at the roundabout. So as is the custom these days, they have removed the roundabout, added lanes and no doubt we will have a plethora of traffic lights. tonymaillman
Yes and it's an absolute pain in the neck in the mornings not sure if they're going to put lights there or what but I wish they'd get their flamin' finger out and hurry up with it
Dizzy
Surely not traffic lights Wont that cause huge tailbacks in both directions What I dont understand (traffic lights or not) is WHY if they are just removing an island they are having to widen the road though? Peter T
Think about it. Extra lanes means that they can filter the traffic using lights. Although I am somewhat bemused about the small island they have installed on the Walton side. Looks more like a bus stop.
McBain
Who knows why traffic engineers do anything? I don't think they do themselves, it seems to be a case of "suck it and see" for new traffic works
Pedro
The tail backs on Daresbury Expressway have caused many motorists to divert through Moore village which is fast becoming a dangerous 'ratrun' - but, hey, may increase trade at the village store and keep the post office from closing - an ill wind and all that !! Geoffrey Settle
I see what you all mean - it's a bit of a nightmare when it's busy - Is it anything to do with the new buidlings that are going on. Funny or not so funny thing is apparently because of the confusion there are now more accidents than when the round-a-bout was there.
