The cabinet Office has put this out recently: From Monday 14 September, you must not meet with people from other households socially in groups of more than 6. This rule will not apply to individual households or support bubbles of more than 6 who will still be able to gather together. Businesses will have a clear duty to support NHS Test and Trace. From 18 September, it will be mandatory for certain businesses to have a system to collect NHS Test and Trace data, and keep this for 21 days. Core COVID-19 Secure requirements will be mandated for hospitality businesses, and egregious breaches enforced. The government has also published simplified COVID-19 Secure guidance, available here. Mind you it could be a good excuse to shift the "travellers" from illegal sites or generate a few bob toward legal proceeding to shift them....🤔 Wonder how long it will be before the "I TOLD YOU SO" brigade start shouting the odds in parliament. Observer II Posted September 10, 2020 Report Share Posted September 10, 2020 With Boris wetting appetites with grandiose announcements like the "moonshot" option of 100% testing, while folk don't seem to be able to easily access any currently available testing; with some folk getting tests they don't really need; just leaves a trail of confusion. Meanwhile, they still insist on folk going back to the office and allowing plane travel; and now plan to end the furlough system which will drive the poorest back to work in unsafe environments. The fact is, as the vast majority of the population now understand, is that this virus will be around for a long time and thoughts of ending lock down precautions without a comprehensive test, track and trace system in place is foolhardy. 😷 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Even the most innumerate amongst us will realise that this is physically impossible even if the technology exists, which it doesn't. Just as laughable is the claim by the BMJ that this non-existent test will cost £100Billion. How can they possibly calculate the cost of a non-existent test? Then we have the idea of "Covid Marshalls" being deployed to ensure that we all behave like good little boys and girls. There is no doubt that there are hordes of "Karens and Brians" willing and able to do this job, even unpaid if necessary, but are we going to let ourselves be pushed around by wannabe hall monitors? You should take extra care with the social distancing chaps without an explanation of why this under controlled we should assume it isn't. The number of cases per day has now practically reached the revised number that happened in the peak but we didn't know at the time. More testing is being done so the risk is probably less that it was in the peak but we are not being told by how much or what part of the community presents a risk to older folks. Everyone is back to work, restaurants are open, casinos are open, life is practically normal. Covid19 is barely mentioned in the news. We had five new cases last week in our county, they were all in their thirties and didn't even know they had it. There were also three deaths, all in nursing homes, all in their nineties, all with multiple health problems and all would probably not have survived the olde thyme flu. However, take the qualifying info out and panickers like Obs would be locking you down ! It's no big deal, follow a couple of rules so that you don't miss work and you'll be fine. If you read the news pages on here you will know that we had fifteen new cases in a week in warringon alone. Have lost two friends this last month. One was an old friend of the wife's who was just in her seventies, cause unknown by me at present and one was the secretary of our bowls club who passed away last week who was in his ninerties. again cause unknown by me. both could have been natural causes or may have a tenuous link to the virus. as for anybody else i would not know as i am taking very few chances being in the "at risk" category and also having two brothers who are now in the same "at risk" category.
