Observer II
Basically sums up all that is wrong with our society and institutions at the moment; totally taken over by PC enterism - a woke joke. 😠
asperity
We're constantly being fed the old line about the NHS being underfunded with underpaid staff, and at the same time they are coming up with this sort of nonsense.
Observer II
Unfortunately, the Trust Managers and their un-elected, appointed Boards, are a law unto themselves; and like most of our public sector are free to spend on PC political gestures and of course, their salary grades. 😠
asperity
Quite a few unpalatable home truths about our sainted NHS here: https://thecritic.co.uk/who-do-think-were-kidding-with-the-nhs/
Observer II
I'm afraid I have to agree with that article Asp; but the argument is about the practise not the principle imo. Like many of our institutions, it's in need of radical reform. 😷😠
asperity
Exactly Obs, but I can't see the necessary reform happening now that practically the whole country has been brainwashed into thinking that the NHS has succeeded in saving us all from dying from Covid19 when the reality is that the front-line staff employed by the NHS has done sterling work in spite of their employer's failings. I've said this before but it's worth repeating, it wasn't the government's fault that the NHS was short of PPE and equipment it was the NHS' and PHE's responsibility to maintain the required stocks. It wasn't the government that emptied all the old people out of hospitals and into care homes it was the NHS. The underfunding argument won't wash now that it can be shown that it's the mismanagement of the funds by the NHS and PHE that is the problem. They are spending money on managers and business consultants instead of on doctors and nurses.
Observer II
All Governments have used the NHS as pin ball for years; but we now have Trusts overseen by unelected burocrats, we also have the nonsense of four NHS authorities in the UK, when it supposed to be a "National" Health Service. So, too many fingers in the pie, a recipe for incompetance and corruption.
asperity
I see "our" NHS is still struggling to fill vital positions. Notice the one for Nottinghamshire even references Saint George Floyd for some obscure reason. You really couldn't make it up 🙄.
Observer II
Well spotted Asp; if ever there was a case for a root and branch clear out, this is it - it's costing a fortune on non-clinical staff and these woke posts. 😠
Davy51
Absolute disgrace .Any of us clowns could do that ,think i might apply for the top paying job.
Bill
I wonder what the salary is of the person who invented these silly positions? Bill
Evil Sid
Probably a lot more than the job advertised or they would be doing the job instead of advertising the post....🤔 By the way if that last one is still open i am available for the next twelve months at that salary...😎
asperity
Save our NHS'(Art Collection). Another "vital" position in our cash-strapped national treasure. Please note that there are plenty of "diversity and Inclusion" positions waiting to be filled around the country, including at Warrington and Halton NHS Trust. Get those applications rolling in folks.
Observer II
Time the woke brigade was purged from all public posts and the savings spent on front line medical staff. 😠
Evil Sid
art therapy is used for the elderly,or those recovering from strokes or suffering dementia. Been around for years as a recuperative therapy. Basket weaving being one example from the war years. so not as daft a position as it sounds. Observer II
Though not a priority Sid.
asperity
That's as may be Sid, but these jobs are being advertised at a time when the NHS is pleading poverty (but then again hasn't it always?), and people are dying from non-Covid related problems e.g. cancelled operations, depression and suicides. It smacks of the NHS bureaucracy feathering its own nest while ignoring the core reason for its existence!
Observer II
Such a job would be more applicable to a care home - and on less salary.
Observer II
Seems NHS Senior Managers are jumping the vaccine queue ahead of their deserving front line staff - despicable. 😠 😷
asperity
Shame on you Obs! Don't you realise that the NHS management is the core of our salvation? That's why there are so many of them and why they get paid so much.
