asperity
A winning start for the Wire, 26 - 06, despite being reduced to 12 men twice during the game. The new rules have speeded things up at scrums and goal-line dropouts. To be honest Leeds were poor for long periods of the game but this doesn't take anything away from a strong performance by the Wire.
Wirewire
Yes it was a promising start to the season and I thought Austin looked as though he wanted to be playing for us which was very refreshing.
Evil Sid
Be interesting to see how they play when they are behind, whether they will have the same stick to the plan attitude or go into must get a try at all cost panic mode and start making mistakes. Did note that the Leeds fans were very quiet for most of the game and do wonder if that had much effect on the Leeds players mindset as well. Davy51
I thought at one stage ,just for a minute ,that we were going into opposed training session mode then the mistakes came in a flurry. I do often wonder though if the the length of half time breaks is detrimental to teams . For many seasons since the longer break dictated by sky we seem to be off the pace for quite a while at the start of second halves .
