What do they expect ?

Recommended Posts

Another wall to wall reporting of a "terrorist incident" on the news, the usual round of hand wringing and condemnations from the politicians, and no doubt we'll get the inevitable candle lit vigils and flower shrines.   What do folk expect when our doors are wide open ?   These are clearly the amateur nutcases at the moment, but as the ISIS trained and equipped jihadis return from Syria, we'll no doubt see more sophisticated attacks with lots more casualties.  Still, I'm sure Tim and Jeremy will give them a good talking to.

But Sky are reporting that at least one of the nutjobs has lived in a flat in a tower block in Barking for over 3 years and has a wife and young kids and works in the local gym....

These appear to be home grown terrorists not ex-Syrian fighters.... The biggest problem would appear to be religion. Maybe it is time to come into the 21st Century and realise that there isn't some great deity n the sky that governs our every move and actually ban religion altogether from the UK. Make worshipping a god as socially unacceptable as drink driving or talking on a mobile phone while driving.

Sympathise with your tone Baz, but can you imagine our lilly livered liberal establishment actually "getting a grip" and doing it ?   We'd face an army of HR lawyers in the courts and young liberal lefties on the streets.  As good Christians I think we're supposed to turn the other cheek !   As I said, these initial attacks are by home grown and ill equipped amateurs, the real test comes with the return of trained and equipped IS fighters from Syria.  Again, what do folk expect ?  We allow swarms of migrants into the country, allow them to set up in parallel communities under the guise of multi-culturalism, with no intention of integrating with the host community. Then (under Bliar), we bomb and invade their home countries, giving cause for grievance and creating even more migrants. Time for a secular State methinks, with no open expressions of any religion in the public space (including dress).  All the thousands of "suspects" on watch lists, need rounding up and placing in preventative custody (separate from each other), so they can be re-educated. No chance of course, with our HR obsessed luvvies, who will no doubt fight back with candle lit vigils. No doubt if Jeremy gets to be PM, he will give them a good talking to !

Internment together as a group, serves only to reinforce their warped belief system; as proved with the IRA and in today's prison system. It requires solitary for individuals, with the constant challenging of their beliefs, basically brainwashing in reverse. Of course the Muslim community could help, by modernising their doctrine and practises, thus reforming it for the 21st century and for co-existence.

But drink driving and using a phone while driving aren't just socially unacceptable, they're illegal.

Making religion illegal would be a bit tricky, as well as a bit medieval.

Errm nope, religion is the medieval bit.  Nothing wrong with a secular society, where religion is kept private, as in France. Anyway, it wouldn't be necessary to make religion "illegal", merely it's outward display in the public space.

So is driving vans onto pavements and murdering people, so is stabbing people out for a night, so is detonating a bomb in an arena full of children. These medieval neanderthals who believe in this religion mumbo-jumbo should be brought to book. It is responsible for the majority of the worlds conflicts and the catalyst for ever increasing trouble here at home

I agree.

"merely it's outward display in the public space"

Y'mean, like churches?

Like I said, it's tricky, and using the word "merely" doesn't make it less so.

Kudos to the police at the London incident (and everyone else there, by all accounts), they jumped on it quickly and were ready and alert enough to do so.

The defiant response from the people in both Manchester and London - and the wider UK - has been exemplary.

There was one chant heard at a recent event in Manchester that included the line "f*^k ISIS up the arse".

That's the kind of attitude we need here, not some kind of Yellow Peril bollocks.

Errm nope; the churches are places where they can carry out their rituals in private; sort of like one's own home - not a public space.

Wow; defiant response eh ?  If that's the best there is, ISIS must be laughing someone's heads off !

Religion:- The best excuse anybody can come up with for clubbing another person over the head.

If "GOD" exists then according to at least 90% of religions he/she/it guides all our actions and thus only "GOD" is responsible for what happens not the person. (note this is true for non-believers as well as believers in "GOD" and devil worshippers IF "GOD" exists of course)

How to spot a terrorist :- look in the mirror, as good a way as any as terrorist try their best to blend in until they act. Armed police and/or troops on the street may help to reduce the effects of that act but are usually only able to act after the act has started in the case of the less explosive demonstrations of terrorism.

Suspected terrorists are just that suspected, they do not become terrorists until they actually carry out an act of terrorism. They may well be on a watch list and speak loudly and openly about "killing the INFIDEL" but until they take action to that end they are as innocent as everybody else.

So short of having to pass everybody through a checkpoint at the street corner each time they leave the house, stopping a terrorist is not going to be an easy task for any government and as soon as you start introducing such measures then the HR wallers will be out in force complaining about the curtailment of the individuals human rights and sadly the terrorists will be achieving their aim of spreading fear throughout the land.

The strange thing that struck me about the latest attack was the way that everybody, including the police, are persisting in calling the 3 attackers "suspects". Did the police kill the wrong 3 men then? Surely if they were the attackers then they should be referred to as "perpertrators", or does that infringe their human rights somehow?

It is a pity potential victims are not protected by the HR lobby too.The terrorist is kitted out for his or her mission ,the unsuspecting victims are not & it is time the law of the land & the protection of all the potential victims in Britain of all races took precedence over murderers.
