How were they known to the authorities Baz?

I don't know what you mean? They were known to MI5 and this was widely reported across the media when it came to light after the bombings but I have no idea of how they knew. Maybe he told them or maybe they had intelligence?

The BBC reported that "Mohammad Sidique Khan, 30, Edgware Road bomber

A married father-of-one and teaching assistant, Mohammad Sidique Khan was the oldest of the bombers and is thought to have taken the lead role.

Raised in Beeston, Leeds, he was the youngest of six children born to Pakistani immigrants who had taken British citizenship.

Friends from his teenage years recall a highly Westernised young man who insisted on being called "Sid".

Khan was known to the MI5, but officers assigned to investigate him were diverted to another operation."

Those "terrorists sympathisers" known to the security services will be on "watch lists"; this assists border agencies to red flag them, should they enter via a bona fide entry point They will also have details of some "home grown" radicals, again allowing bona fide movements to be monitored or prevented. Both "home grown" (as in born in an EU Country) and foreign (as in from Syria, Afghanistan, Pakistan etc); is irrelevant, if both are illegally entering or leaving in both directions, either to join ISIL in Syria or to carry out their bidding in the EU. The migrant stream, without proper security checks, provides the ideal opportunity for such movements. The Leader of the Paris atrocity, was allegedly Belgian (Belgium has supplied the largest EU contingent to ISIL), he (according to reports) visited Syria at least twice, and boasted about the ease with which he could do so, through the migrant stream. Such is the folly of Schengen and porous borders; with the illegal migration of millions of, mainly economic chancers; aided and abetted by the bleeding heart luvvies in the respective EU corridors of power.

   I don't think the security services took his word alone. Look, your trying your best at denial, but the glaring fact remains, that out of over a million Muslims entering the EU, coupled with all those already here; on the balance of probabilities, a percentage of these chancers will either be radicals or susceptible to radicalisation. In order to become a radical Muslim, you first have to be a Muslim.

So we now complete the circle.  Bombs make refugees.  In the case of Syria Assad has killed many times more of his own people than IS have yet we aren't bombing him are we?  Up to now every one of the terrorists with the possible exception of one , have been born and raised in Europe.  The one with the fake passport, we don't know who he was or whence he came.  Of course you have to be a Muslim to be a radical Muslim, did you work out that all by yourself?  So out of a million Muslims pouring into Europe one terrorist may or may not have come in with them. You are desperate to try to conflate the refugee crisis and the terrorist attacks in Europe.  It would suit your right wing dogma and hatred to do so.

A newspaper article yesterday was reporting that hundreds of possible jihadists have returned to Britain & are being monitored round the clock at the cost of millions. Why are these people not just arrested at the point of entry, passport confiscated & placed in a detention centre for the duration of the war on terror ? I am sure it would be a lot simpler.

I'm not sure whether it is better to have our terrorists home grown or coming here as pretend refugees. Do one or the other offer a better class of murderous mayhem or something?

Very strange about that guy's passport (real or false, who knows?) being found near his body in Paris. This sounds very much like the passport of the 9/11 hijacker being found in the street near the World Trade Centre. All very mysterious.

Civil wars make refugees, and civil wars are a result of political instability; so regaining stability needs to be the primary objective, and the only presence in the country capable is the elected President - Assad. We killed off all the other Dictators, in the belief that these societies would suddenly jump into liberal democracy and ignore centuries of religious dogma. This is part of a greater sectarian civil war between Sunni and Shia, the Sunnis being supported by the Saudis and Gulf States, and two faced Turkey. So perhaps they could be hosting their fellow Sunnis? But the Syrians only account for around 25% of the migrant flows into Europe, don't forget the Italian and Spanish routes, for these economic chancers. It now appears that ISIL has been selling their oil through Turkey, and the Yanks knew about it, but turned a blind eye. The Yanks have been bombing ISIL for 18 months, but now the UK is involved, the first UK mission was to target oil fields; so why didn't the Yanks do that 18 months ago? It seems the Yanks prefer to play super-power chess against the Russians, rather than bring this mess to a conclusion. As for Camoron's doggie dossier - the 70,000 anti-Assad rebels in Syria, or has they've been described in reality - the bogus battalions; this hotch-potch of factions cannot be described as a cohesive force, and certainly not one to be relied on. Only cynics can make sense of it all !

Sheesh; read or watch the news, depends of course on which news you read.  All the reports on TV, have shown over 70% of the Balkan exodus to be young men of military age; interviews have exposed the presence of Afghans, Iranians, Iraqis and even Pakistanis, even showed them destroying their IDs in order to claim they were Syrians - and that was on the lefty luvvie BBC !

I don't do links; just observe the news. It's not that complicated, the main migrant routes into Europe are: through the Balkans via Greece and Turkey (easiest for Syrians); through Libya and Italy (maybe some Syrians) but mainly Eritrean and Sudanese); and the Canaries and Spain (West Africans); and there's a new Artic front opened up through Russia into Norway! On the main Balkan Route, as I've seen on the BBC news, the majority are young males, who you'd expect to be defending their families not running away from them. So we're being conned, as the majority are economic chancers NOT genuine refugees; and this will hopefully become apparent once proper checks can be made on their asylum claims.

Which way they come is not what I asked nor is the sex and age any pointer to country of origin.  Lets be honest, you made it up to support your anti refugee dogma.  Millions of people have been displaced in Syria, the same in Iraq and Afghanistan,  its a consequence of bombing and shooting them out of their homes.  So come on, where do you suggest I go to find definitive proof that only 25% of the refugees come from Syria?

Unless we visit them in the Balkans and do a head count, we're left with watching a BBC reporter do it for us; papers and institutions of course, can't be trusted as they give opinion to suit their agendas. Which way they come IS important, as the Syrians are using the Turkey to Greece route in the main; so out of the totality of migration to Europe, that brings their percentage down for a start.  Still, don't let me disturb your denial.

So you were lying for effect, again.  The way they come does not prove country of origin and only an idiot would contend that sex and age does too.  .  I am not in denial Observer, just not stupid enough to take your word on anything to do with forriners and I do enjoy catching you out in a lie.

   You wish Mr Clueless.  Oh yes "the way they come" is a good indicator of Country of origin, get your atlas out or as usual google it. It's a no brainer to suggest that the majority of Syrians (most already in Turkey), will choose the shortest route, with the shortest sea crossing, which is from Turkey to Lesbos, then through the Balkans from Greece. But this is only one of the routes into Europe, no doubt a few displaced Syrians may take the round about route from Jordan via Egypt and Libya. But the overwhelming route for Syrians, will be the Balkans; the African routes will be used by the Africans. So of the totality of illegal entrants into Europe, Syrians are a minority; and families an even smaller minority. The idea of the majority of these economic chancers, is to send eldest sons to establish a bridgehead, then bring the rest of the family over if they succeed in getting asylum; thus making the influx even greater (something you inadvertently admitted in one of your less guarded posts!). Even Merkel must have worked this one out, as she is now saying Afghans will be sent back. Hope she has more success than Greece did, with the Pakistanis, as Pakistan refused to accept them - allies eh?!  So all in all, one gigantic mess, that your ilk is prepared to roll over and take, myopia at it's best.

That's the problem, you can't see it, cos you don't want to see it; raw reality tends to be obscured by those rose tinted glasses. Fact: over a million migrants have entered Europe in the past year (and that's a conservative estimate). Fact: There are at least four (probably more) main routes being used to enter Europe. The majority of Syrians are entering via Turkey and Greece; but that route also includes Afghans, Iraqis, Iranian and even Pakistanis. So, of the overall number, the Syrians are a minority; added to which many are young males of military age and most have enough cash to pay traffickers; and all have the opportunity of utilising safe camps in Turkey, Jordan etc; so not exactly essential travel. All are illegal entrants, all should have been vetted in their first country of entry (IE Greece) in order to establish their status (as per the Dublin Rules); but that didn't happen. Many EU countries that got out the hearts and flowers (incl Germany), have now discovered they can't cope, and are now experiencing a mood change in their electorates. Perhaps too late, and now frantic efforts are being made to bribe the originating countries to take them back. Clearly a mess, thanks to the EU , but an avoidable one.

Apparently Bono of U2 fame has now declared his solidarity with the French victims at a concert in Paris. If that doesn't make world politicians take notice & stop ISIS in its tracks i don't know what will.

Maybe we will soon be having a concert for the victims of terror.
