More EU meddling.....

The problem is that all of the main parties; Tory, Labour and Lib Dems have all promised a referendum but have then gone on to deny the very thing that makes Farage so popular on the subject. You may well want to have a referendum based on the factual information, information that may well tell us that the EU IS actually good for the long term benefits of the country or that the EU is terribly bad for the long term; except now, none of the major parties are going to give you that and so we will never get the chance to decide on something we have been forced into without our say so

It's all very well for Camoron to tell us we can get a referendum if we vote him back into office with a majority...(but of course only AFTER he attempts to wrestle back powers from Brussels) or for Red Ed or Cleggy to say that a referendum will happen if more powers are to be given to Brussels by way of new treaty signings.... but the problem is that Brussels now has all the powers it needs to erode our rights to a say bit by bit without having anymore major treatys to sign..... Brown already did that in a seedy backroom signing years ago.

As far as I'm aware, this eccentric isn't a member or in any way represents UKIP, he's apparently a donor - end of.  This piece by Crick and Frei; merely made CH4 look ridiculous in their efforts to ridicule UKIP, something I hope they'll carry on doing; as the more they try these smear tactics, the deeper UKIP support is digging it's heels in - as the polls are showing.

There are some quite unsavoury types who contribute to all parties Kije; but you keep trying to get that mud to stick..... but no one is listening..... The UK will get its referendum and we will get out of this corrupt edifice.

The Lib Dems have taken donations from people convicted of fraud and the Labour party have taken donations from a guy who wasn't even eligible to vote because he was French and another chap who was a "fixer" for Robert Mugabe and Assad of Syria.

Now don't get me wrong, the UKIP donors views are not particularly pleasing, but surely that must be "outranked" by someone who is bezzie mates with the butcher Assad and Mugabe?

Mind you in your eyes they will probably only be really bad if they donated to UKIP!

Lib Dem major donor in 2006

"Scottish businessman Michael Brown is being extradited to the UK to face a number of charges including fraud, forgery and obtaining by deception.

Mr Brown donated more than £2m to the Lib Dems ahead of the last election.

But a party spokesman stressed there was "no connection" between the charges and Mr Brown's donations.".... in other words, they didn't know if the money he had given was fraudulently obtained !

Lib Dem Major donor in 2014

"A major Liberal Democrat donor has been arrested as part of an investigation into allegations of bribery at Rolls-Royce.

Sudhir Choudhrie was held by police with his son Bhanu this week. Since 2004 they have given
£1.2million to the Lib Dems as personal donations and from their companies."

Labour donor before the last election:

"The focus of the sleaze scandal engulfing the Government switched dramatically last night to the Labour Party's second biggest donor - an Iranian-born car dealer who is not even entitled to vote in general elections.

Mahmoud Khayami, a French citizen, has given a total of £830,000 in the past eight months, making him Labour's biggest individual backer after Lord Sainsbury. The party said it would launch an investigation after The Mail on Sunday discovered that: • Khayami made his first donation - of £500,000 - just 24 hours after becoming legally allowed to do so, by having his name added to the Electoral Roll........Khayami is a close friend of Labour-supporting "fixer" Anthony Bailey, whose clients have included Robert Mugabe's Zimbabwe regime, and whose own £500,000 donation was rejected by Labour because of fears it had come from foreign sources."

Meanwhile, a spokesman for Mr Khayami's friend Anthony Bailey insisted he not been acting as a front for anyone, when he offered his £500,000 to Labour.'It was Anthony's money. It was all a result of a personal issue between Anthony and certain senior Labour figures.'

He added that Mr Bailey had subsequently given other smaller donations, which the party had accepted.

'The friendship between Anthony and Mr Khayami is well documented,' the spokesman added.

Mr Bailey, who is on honeymoon in Thailand, has also acted as a fixer for Syrian dictator Bashar Assad and Alberto Fujimori, the former Peruvian president accused of corruption"

Don't think anyone, except the media and others attempting anything to discredit UKIP, will be interested in his views.  It's the only choice for those who wish for a grip on uncontrolled immigration, to exit the EU and ECHR; and the demise of the luvvie PC, London centric political establishment.

Think a lot of women, that might be thinking of voting UKIP, might be interested in his views, as giving money buys influence.

do you not think that donors to all major parties have an agenda? People don't just hand over (in some cases) millions of pounds and expect nothing in return....

People don't tend to be bothered about a bit of scandal Kije; they are more interested in expecting the politicians they elect to at least try and uphold some of the promises they made at election time. Sadly the latter has now gotten to the point where they might as well not bother with a manifesto as it means absolutely bugger all once they are elected.

You and the rest of the pipe smoking, beardy vegetarian liberals might not like the idea, but the impact on OUR way of life by mass, uncontrolled immigration from the EU is not good for the country, the indigenous population or the services we need to enjoy a decent standard of living. Immigration is now a major factor (cited in many reports and surveys) on the housing shortage, lowering of wages and pressure on schools and the NHS. It can't continue like it is because there are half a dozen more former Eastern European countries already polishing their begging bowls and waiting for their place at the trough.

It needs to be addressed and Cameron trying to "renegotiate" will not work. We need the population of the country to be allowed to make that choice. Just as the Scots are getting their chance at independence. If it is good enough for them, it should be good enough for us to be trusted with the decision.

Nobody voted for this "United States of Europe" and nobody wants it.

Yes it is asp, but I think you will agree that politicians should be setting an example, and as he is trying to set him self up as a breath of fresh air in politics, when actually he is part of the establishment, and no different.

you really are on a different planet Kije..... Politicians of ALL persuasions are in it for what they can get; without exception. Sometimes some do things differently. take Cameron; he was a millionaire who decided to go into politics, Tony Bliar is now a multi-millionaire because he was a politician

Neil Kinnock (remember him; the working class hero and former Labour Leader).. is now a millionaire along with his wife, daughter and son-in-law because he was a politician and when he was booted out by Labour; jumped straight on the Brussels gravy-train as an EU commissioner (along with half of his family tree as well).

. and good old Mandelson, Labour minister and Politician, booted out after a scandal, told to go and hide in Brussels for a few years (on a nice little commissioners salary to keep him in the style he had become accustomed as a minister) stayed there a few years and then welcomed back with open arms and an even bigger open cheque book....

They are all at the trough and guzzling the swill as fast and as much as they can

The method of tax avoidance used by Farage (on earnings from his media appearances) is the same as that used by many of the BBC's so called "star presenters" to reduce their tax liabilities. These self same "star presenters" who criticise others for tax avoidance. Another hypocrite is the Grauniad which is forever moaning about the way the rich avoid tax while meanwhile doing the same by offshoring their profits to the Caymen Islands. And don't get me started on Margaret Hodge, chairman (person? thing?) of the public accounts committee whose financial affairs would reveal her unfitness to criticise others.

Kije, it depends how you look at things. There are many hundreds of thousands of people who earn just over the 30 odd thousand pound mark that takes them into the 40% tax bracket that would welcome a 9% reduction in their tax bills. It also depends if they are advocating scrapping the tax threshold before you start paying tax. If they are and want everyone to pay tax on every penny they earn, I wouldn't agree with it. If they want to keep the £10,000 tax free before you start paying tax and then tax everything above that at 31%, there would be an awful lot more people who would agree with it than would disagree.
