observer
Given that no one has a clue as to the whereabouts of, or what happened to the Malaysian airliner; and all the "news" items amount to theory and speculation; would it be preferable if the media ceased reporting non-news until they have something tangible to report? Evil Sid
Probably. What I can't understand is that they can drop a bomb down your chimney from fives miles away using sat nav tracking. They can watch tank movements from space, they can track bird migration across the globe, but they can't find this plane.
Robbo
Let's spare a thought for the man who told his wife that he was going to China on the Malaysian plane and now can't leave his girlfriend's apartment.
Davy51
There was an article in the paper last weekend saying that if the relevant equipment is turned off on the plane it can't be tracked by radar ,& to think they've spent billions developing stealth planes. You would think though that the controls for disabling the tracking system would be located on the outside of the plane so they couldn't be operated by hijackers . algy
This is what is called tracking! Flights to and from and over Europe in 24 hours.
observer
One thing I think we can rely on; when they do work out what happened; Hollywood will make the film.

observer
Can't figure out the position of relatives "wanting evidence"; if it's anything like the Air France case, it'll take years to search the sea bed for "evidence". Davy51
What seemed a bit surreal watching the news today was the sight of the Chinese demonstrators in printed t shirts & demonstrating against the Malaysian authorities. It looked a bit contrived.

Davy51
What with all this satellite imagery showing so called debris in the Indian Ocean you would have thought at least one satellite would have photographed the plane in its final minutes & so be able to give a more accurate position. observer
Well, until they actually do locate the plane, they've nothing to report, so why is this wall to wall on the news; when there is no news?
Dizzy
................why is this wall to wall on the news; when there is no news? Because there were 227 passengers and 12 crew on board maybe... who were other peoples husbands, wives, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, grandparents, nieces, nephews..... etc. Would you prefer them to say nothing about the fact that a plane load of people has been ''lost' ? It does all sound a bit strange though.......
observer
But they've got absolutely zilch to tell these relatives yet; and these relatives won't be satisfied until they see the remains of the passengers; which, based on the Air France incident, could take another two years searching the sea bed with robot subs.
