Wirewire
19 man squad named as:- Chris Bridge; Lee Briers; Garreth Carvell; Mike Cooper; Rhys Evans; Simon Grix; Ben Harrison; Micky Higham; Chris Hill; Tyrone McCarthy; Joel Monaghan; Michael Monaghan; Adrian Morley; Gareth O’Brien; Stefan Ratchford; Chris Riley; Trent Waterhouse; Ben Westwood; Paul Wood. I'd go with:- RatchfordMonaghan JBridgeGrixRhysBriersObrienWoodHighamHillWestwoodWaterhouseHarrisonCarvellMorleyCoopsMonaghan MTyke & Riley to miss out. Riley makes too many defensive mistakes for me and has played alot already this season so can take a rest and see how Rhys gets on
Latchford Locks
Riley had a rest last week and despite not having the best season is still a better choice than Williams but that wing spot is a weakness maybe therein lies Smiths resigning of Penny next season ?.We don't have much choice in the centres till Atkins can replace Bridge next week(hopefully). Rhys refers to Rhys Evans not Rhys Williams. Great player/prospect but been a sick note the last couple of years. Let's hope he can get a run in the team and show us what he can do.... Looks like Hodgson's on his way next year, but Ratch an excellent replacement so can't see us missing him but not sure about Penny's rumoured 3yrs contract - great exciting attacking player but even worse that Riley in defense........ Davy51
Bridge is one of the best centres in RL .

Evans was an excellent new kid on the block till injuries delayed his progress but he is still a great prospect and worth percevering with. Penny was terrible defencively but that was 3 years ago,Smith is no fool he obviously see's beyond those early days " In Smith We Trust "
Latchford Locks
Not comparing Penny with any of these players.. but.... Brian Bevan,Martin Offiiah and Tom van Vollenhoven were notoriously bad defenders
safeway60
Bevs best defence was the interception from which he scored many of his tries. Slightly before my time but I've been told he had many battles with Wigan's Brian Norgdren which Bev usually won.
harry hayes
Bevan was lazy in defence, but not against any winger of repute. His interceptions when faced with a two on one were frequent and amazing. Happy days
Gary
Great win - second place secured with Wigan's defeat - roll on the play-offs!
