observer
Your a teacher or play-ground assistant, and you notice a 4yo boy with a black eye or delving in bins for food. Or your a member of A&E staff, and you notice the boy is emaciated and has finger mark bruising around his neck. Would you report it, and would you expect your boss to involve social services? Eagle
Â Definite yes but we probably wouldn't get a job in Social Services.
Davy51
Somebody from Coventry council was talking about this on the tea time news & once more stated that "lessons had been learned " , the usual phrase that is trotted out when abused & brutalised kids have been let down by the authorities that were supposed to protect them. observer
Social Services have a difficult task, as when to move in; they are often damned if they do and damned if they don't. However, the balance of risk should lay with intervention and folk should report cases where they have concerns.
