algy
If you attended and enjoyed the Lymm Festival of Transport there is one at Audlem - 9 miles south of Nantwich, 37 miles from Warrington. Historic boats at Audlem Festival of Transport, 31 July. This year's festival will have nearly 300 old cars, lorries and motorbikes, plus perhaps 15+ historic narrow boats at Audlem Wharf on the Shropshire Union. These include Saturn, the last Shroppie fly-boat, and four ex-FMC steamers (rare to see so many in one place).Come and enjoy the day (it's all free), and if you'd like to bring your historic boat, contact Audlem Mill, who are organising the 'impromptu' boat gathering, on 01270 811059 to reserve a space. As well as hundreds of vintage cars, motorcycles, commercial and farm vehicles parading through the village and parking up the playing field, there will be much to see on the canal at Audlem Wharf.A great option if you're not going to the IWA festival at Burton upon Trent! Dizzy
how do we book cars in for the festival? do you have a website contact? see here Baz (where there is a phone number/email for the organiser) http://www.classicshowsuk.co.uk/carshoweventsinformation/carshow_date.asp?id=325 It also has a link to the Audlem website http://www.audlem-aset.org/events/transport-festival.html but I couldn't see the organisers name and number on there. If you click on 'more info for exhibitors' it does say registration is now closed for the transport show but you never know they might let you go if you ring. Just say you and your car have 'featured' online in the Warrington press quite a lot It sounds good Algy, bit far but hey it's free so well worth the travel. Thanks for telling
