  3. Found this one but it's from a site on the USA so not sure of it's accuracy web page everyone else can try the search on the site to find theirs.. [ 24.03.2008, 14:50: Message edited by: Wireless Geoff Settle ]
  4. With footballers having to show respect foe the referees, just like Rugby League players do, will supporters take the hint? According to Staurday's Daily Telegraph footballer are being asked to set an example to their supporters and not only behave on the pitch but also off it. Maybe this could be extended to the WAGS in their dress sense.
  5. Peter, hopefully I haven't damaged the Painting groups image by replying to your questions. I only intended to give posters an update. I will not be posting on this topic anymore in case it detracts from their success and achievements. I hope you understand.
  6. Was that the magificent 7 Paul?
  7. Is that milk & sugar or are you wseet enough? He is right Dissy I don't know or understand what libel on www is all about maybe an administrator can explain.
  8. That explains the long boats at Port Erin or was it Peel and the pointed hats on the bar.
  9. Well I think you've just shafted our own argument. Just as well the people of Liverpool are liked by the Manx. Strange how they are hated so much in this Town if the comments on this site are anything to go by.
  10. I was luck as I only had to visit Birchwood this morning so my route was the quietest its ever been at 8:25am. I could see from bridge over the M6 that the Motorway was efectively closed and the queues heading back into the Town centre started fro college round-about. How bad was it for you?
  11. I just like keeping busy. The children made their videos today and had great fun. They've really packed a lot into just three weeks and have mini movies to show for their efforts, having made the models, painted the scenery and directed the shots.
  12. I'm not sure but I'm working on the principle if you don't let them know then they can't do anything about it. I do wonder if they do prioritise the work required to be done, I'm sure they do aren't you?
  13. Yes the JSA have a special form to fill in and I complete three a week for all the freebies I do.
  14. It would appear that in this years Boules championships the English team stand more than a fair chance against the French. Culcheth Sports Club is about to kick off a new season and I believe that they have receieved funding for the facilities. Petanque What do you think of the game will you be taking it up? 15. Just watching the news and storms are predicted for Sunday night/Monday so take care - some papers are warning people you NOT to veture out tomorrow night especially if you are near the coast. Does anyone know more
  16. Okay thanks for the feedback I was starting to feel a bit para-thingy. I have read the booklet and do try to keep to the code of conduct - honest. I can and will only comment on my own behaviour and stand and fall by my actions and my actions alone. I'm more of a thinker and palnner and hopefully last mondays meeting on 'What is the Parish Plan - and do we need one' was constructive - I didn't need to say much as there where much better contributions being made from the group than I could have made. I think that we were all largely in agreement on the way forward.
  17. You know and read me like a book but you are right the excellent Blackbrook Watercolour Painting Course has had a mellowing effect on me. I know have a lovely watercolour painting of a winters scene on my mantle piece ollowing Thursday's class with Brian. I have been able to pass on some of the techniques learnt on the course to the little learners in Westy who are doing the Animation extended service course with Angie. They have painted some amazing scenery to go with their mermaids. It's really great to see their imaginations at work - who would ever have thought that there could be a black clothed mermaid who has a sister. There are also mermaids at a disco and with an ice rink. On Monday Angie is bringing her video camera to record the mermaid models in play. I can't wait, so many budding producers. The week after next sees the Circus skills performed in front of the parents of the other school where I help out. The kids have done really really well and we are all in for a treat, watching them on the little 4 wheelers, juggling and using the devil sticks. And it's taught me that your never to old or young to learn [ 08.03.2008, 06:52: Message edited by: Geoff Settle ]
  18. Hi Marion, Have you thought about writing to them and asking if they have any books that contain information? If they have then you might be able to request it via the inter-library loan from your local library. Next time I'm in town I'll bob in and ask for you but I'm sure that there are a few people on this site who often visit the Town library and know it much better than me. I hope that they log on and browse this link.
  19. Your right B, I bought the Beatles Doubble Blue CD recently and was telling my daughter about what the lyrics 'Now we know how many holes it takes to fill the Parr Hall' - oops did I get that right Albert? Having said that the job on Long Lane looks good. But the state of others like Fearnhead Lane is bed but elswhere in Warrington look like minor eathquakes have taken place!!!! As Paula Darlington said at the above Parish meeting we are very lucky in are Parish many other places are n a much worse state of repair. My role however mains one of pushing hard for the people who I represent some like me some do not but that doesn't matter in the quest to lobby for improvements. 20. No just trying to inform people about the WNCF and the work they do.
  21. Your right about the quality the two guys did a good job and covered the three small areas well, however the rest of the 1/4qtr mile path remains rutted and requires the same attention to detail.
  22. Ag I'm more a magifying glass type of person you never know what is in the small print. Pete as for bringing groups into disrepute, simply by writing on WWW I thing that many people think I am doing that daily. You wouldn't belive the number of people I offend without realising it but don't worry they soon let me know. [ 06.03.2008, 18:06: Message edited by: Geoff Settle ]
  23. Ag what you describe has always been the case ever since the grounds were handed over. The costs etc are well documented in the Parish minutes. They are available in the local library plus as one councillor knows well you can use the Freedom of information act to find out more. He even has the full support from Ian Marks so he can and does drill down to the nth degree. Hopefully his thirst has been satisfied. Spot checks are made on membership of the clubs that use the grounds and they must show that the majority of members are local. This has been abused from time to time but they have been found out and in one told tht they were not welcome. Local residents come first above all others. I agree that very few if any residents know how their council tax is made up. I sincerely hope that they do care and take the time and trouble to ask questions. I know that you do and will continue to scrutinise proceedings and make sure that everything is above board.avaiable You are right though the thread has deviated but I was tryng to answer the wider question posed above about other activities for youths in Warrington.
  24. Ag these are both parasites and should be put down, make sure you have got the right sort of shot for our gun. Don't leave it too long though.
