Lt Kije
No I just thought I would ghost write an Obs reply, with the same inane arguments he uses, actually fungi was a good example to use, as they have the same intelligence leval as Observers arguments. I just find it sad that some people are taken in Peter!!!
wolfie
Are you saying that Obs is a fungi?
observer
When the luvvies are losing the arguement, they resort to personal abuse or censorship. Kije hasn't offered any alternatives; perhaps in this case we should all hug a contaminated Ash?!
Lt Kije
Come on Wolfie, some fungi are useful  Obs  In your dreams, You throw mud at the ECHR, when asked what you don't like about it, you say nothing, inane !!!,
asperity
Q. Why did the mushroom throw a party? Â Â A. Because he was a fun guy! Â Â I'll get me coat

observer
Think your pursueing an inane arguement there Kije, and barking up the wrong tree: I've said "what I don't like " about the ECHR - THE WHOLE CONCEPT OF IT. Why? Because it overides the sovereignty of the UK Parliament and Judicial system. Thus my objections are ones of principle NOT detail. Lt Kije
I have nipot got a problem with this, Â Human Rights are a set of guarantees that the government makes to us in order to uphold our dignity and well-being. All of us, regardless of who we are, are entitled to benefit from economic, social, cultural, civil and political rights. Some of these rights, like the guarantee not to be tortured or to be held in slavery, can never be limited. The Government can restrict the other rights to ensure that we respect each other's basic entitlements and to keep our society safe.
Dizzy
What on earth has human rights got to do with our Ash trees
Cleopatra
You mean ash trees don't have human rights too?
observer
Kije, your not getting it are you. I frankly couldn't care less if the ECHR was based on the 10 commandments or the sermon on the mount. It's administered and interpreted by an international body. We could have our own Bill of Rights - sorted.
Lt Kije
Is this the same bill of rights that bans Chatholics from the throne, it's a little old don't you think
wolfie
Is this the same bill of rights that bans Chatholics from the throne, it's a little old don't you think  Would they be Chav Catholics?

observer
Well IF we had our own Bill of Rights, perhaps they wouldn't be banned from the throne. Thought you wanted to get rid of the Monarchy anyway Kije. Perhaps you could start listening to your Elders?!
Cleopatra
You are not suggesting that it is the ECHR that prevents catholics ascending the throne are you observer?
Lt Kije
The point is Obs, we have not got a bill of rights, the ECHR, gives us some.rights.
