16 pounds to walk through a council owned car park.

I thought I was about to read of another money grabbing ploy by WBC.

Residents of 14 houses in Whitstable, Kent, were sent letters informing them that they would be required to pay 16 pounds per annum to walk through the council owned car park to reach their homes with a further 122 pounds per annum for vehicle access to the rear of their homes and they would need to take out a 2 million pound liability insurance. They will be required to sign a contract to that affect.

A council spokesman has apologised and said the idea would be reviewed after complaints began to pour in about the charges. He said: ‘We are sorry residents in Cromwell Road are unhappy.

What? Did they expect the residents to be happy and dance with joy at the prospect of being taxed to gain access to their own back doors?

So, all in all, it's not only Warrington being governed by a town hall full of loonies!
