P J
So the PM has apologised and admitted that Government were wrong, South Yorkshire police have apologised and admitted they were wrong, Sheffield Council have apologised and admitted they were wrong, Sheffield Wednesday Football Club has apologised and admitted it was wrong. The Scum newspaper has apologised and admitted they were wrong, Kelvin McKenzie has apologised and admitted he was wrong but they shouldn't have bothered. Ignore the findings that the independent panel spent 18 months, poring over 450000 documents, to come to. Its all irrelevant as Eagle knows some bloke who disagrees and therefore, despite all the evidence to the contrary, all the doctored police and ambulance services statements, the evidence showing a smear campaign to blame fans instigated almost instantly by the police and abetted by the gutter press, in fact despite all the evidence finally proving once and for all that the fans were indeed the innocent victims of failures by the authorities to ensure their safety it matters not a jot because Eagle knows this feller who said it was the scousers what did it. Some links to reports and headlines from today. The first link is to the Independent Panels report and is what prompted all the above to finally accept the truth, don't pull your head out of the sand to read them Eagle, they don't say what you want them to. http://www.scribd.com/doc/105704598/Hillsborough-Independent-Panel-report-summary http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-19571415 http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/sep/12/hillsborough-truth-about-causes-of-disaster http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/news-and-comment/lies-smears-and-coverups-the-shameful-truth-emerges-8131290.html http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/hillsborough-cover-up---how-1322011 http://news.sky.com/story/984232/hillsborough-cameron-says-sorry-to-families http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2202414/Named-blamed-shamed-The-police-chiefs-caused-tragedy-smeared-dead-fans-fabricated-evidence-families-prosecuted.html http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/345674/Disgraceful-how-41-fans-could-have-lived even the Scum is singing the same song now but I wont link to that filthy rag. wolfie
please define a 'scouser' in your own terms without consulting the internet. Is it someone who is born in Liverpool but then leaves?
Cleopatra
A scouser is a scouser even if the scouser stays in Liverpool or the scouser leaves liverpool. Either way a scouser is a scouser for life.

Cleopatra
Is it not really sinking into the old grey matter, or, are you deliberately being obtuse to get up people's noses? Read the reports damn you! The scousers are innocent and therefore have nothing to appologise for. I would, however, suggest that YOU APPOLOGISE TO THE WHOLE OF LIVERPOOL! Eagle
I am sure appologise is incorrect however there is no need to apologise.
wolfie
I think you should apologise Eagle. Anyone who knows anything about football will tell you that it wasn't ticketless Liverpool fans charging their way through proper fans at Hillsborough in 1989. That was at Istanbul in 2005.
algy
Is it someone who is born in Liverpool but then leaves? The name scouse derives from the Norwegian dish 'Lobscaus' or 'Lapskaus' as I' sure most people in the north west know which came to the city in the early 18th century C1706 and referred to people living in the waterfront district of Liverpool as at that time little else but farmland existed on the outskirts of the city, so a true scouser lived around the dockside areas excluding Bootle to the west, Aigburth to the east and the north end of Scotland road to the north, so a true scouser would be someone born in that enclosed area, let's face it everyone born in the London area is not a Cockney!. The map shews the area in 1725

AdrianR
Looks like I have to class myself as a scally from now on. I was there that day with a friend of mine (Leppings Lanes Standing behind the goal) and my brother (West Stand) was also there and attended seperatley with his friends. Lets kill this once and for all, neither I nor my brother who was in the crush outside, did not see any behaviour as described / alleged. Yes people were drinking, they did then and they do now, but as the report says there is NO EVIDENCE to support that the same was beyond that expected for a occassion of this nature and that the same in any event had no effect on the cause of the tragedy. My memories of wandering around outside pre-match soaking up the atmosphere are about the only good points of a truly horrrible day. What I did see however was 96 people die within a 50 metre radius of where I was standing just for attending a football match. The dead being dragged out, rows of people having CPR on the edge of the pitch, I could go on. I know that I am not alone in this respect, but some of those who werent there sometimes need reminding of what actually went on. I stayed up late last night and read the report. I am today filled with anger at the extent of the cover up and relief that decisions I made that day (pen 4 instead of 3, battling to get away from the front fence where we stood for a bit - it was a crap view was the deciding factor that caused us to move) which seemed at the time innocent actually proved to be very telling. I am also thankful bar some bruising and mental scars I walked away as did my friends and family. Others werent so lucky and based on the contents of the report I count myself as very lucky. Incompetence, dis-organisation and then pure and simple lies thereafter run throughout the near 400 pages. I am astonished and sickened that there are still voices content to lambast the fans despite nearly half a million documents being reviewed and the near totallity of fans there that day saying otherwise. Cleopatra
I cannot imagine what you went through on that day Adrian but what I do know is that rr's-holes like eagle, who still insist on blaming the fans even after the presentation of a report which exonerates them and states that they were in fact innocent, should hang their heads in shame!
Eagle
Will you stop saying 'the fans' as if I am casting aspersions on everyone who attended that day. In my opinion, which I am still allowed, I believe that some fans will be thoroughly ashamed of their actions at Hillsborough. If that makes me an *hole, then I am not bothered but at least have the guts to use the proper word.
AdrianR
There is no evidence of the same. Taylor found none, the panel found none and the police have now been shown to be liars. I'll concede the point if and when there is independently verifiable and scrutinised evidence rather than anecdotes
Eagle
You were there and I accept everything you saw on the day, I also believe what was reported to me by someone who I have known for over 40 years, he is from Liverpool and had no reason to make things up, therefore I suggest that it wasn't possible for you to see everything that occured outside the ground. I fail to see how a report or reports can establish that every Liverpool supporter was blameless. A large majority probably, those already inside the ground definitely, but those outside? Is not possible that in their haste to get in they were all not as innocent as is being reported.
