asperity
Hardly a fair comparison given the political situation at the time, i.e. the apartheid against the catholics.

Davy51
I should imagine that behind the scenes discussions have been taking place for years to get to the present position ,namely this offer of justice & the Queen shaking hands with Martin McGuinness...i am sure bad things have been done right across the spectrum of Irish history by all sides & this end game will probably give all sides the chance of a dignified end to the troubles .All that needs to happen then is for the population of Ulster to discourage any splinter groups from flourishing & that needs to be done as a community & not from a Protestant or Catholic standpoint. observer
Might help if they stopped these anachronistic marches and closed faith schools for a start.
