Look at the way petrol has risen in price..... there are more cars on the road now than ever

Yes, the government should really be drowning in its taxation windfall.But ,apparently ,the problem is what everybody is already aware of...getting tanked up on cheap booze from the supermarket then going out for a couple late on & meeting up with others in the same condition.

It's very easy to blame the government, perhaps we should be looking closer to home, these People that get tanked up have parents, why do they consider it acceptable to get tanked up?

Seems that the alcohol business say imposing a minimum price of about 40 per unit is illegal under EU competition law.

 

I wonder if imposing a minimum price on one bottle/can and using a bogof offer on another bottle/can is breaking the law? :unsure: :unsure:

Pre-loading is merely a response to pricing, not even sure the new prices will make it unattractive, given pub/club prices - and in any event, it will go on. Getting hammered is the British disease, and has been part of our historical culture. :wink:
