Sheila_P
I heard a short time ago that there have been quite a few burglaries in Woolston this week. From what I've heard, they have been on the opposite side to the Rope and Anchor, in the Lawson Close/Edwards Gardens areas. Sorry I can't report about the others. Information has been taken in good faith (no reason to doubt it).
Evil Sid
Makes you wonder what the crime rate was in 1980's as the police say that crime (in Warrington) is at it's lowest since 1990's
Bill
When I lived in that area, a spate of burglaries normally indicated the local thief / druggie had been let out on parole yet again. The police generally know exactly who’s behind all the crimes but lack the concrete proof to put them back where they belong. Bill
observer
That tends to be the case Bill.
Cleopatra
I think in most cases the burgler turns out to be someone local. The bug*ers are too damned lazy to travel outside their locality to do their dirty deeds! Which is one reason they won't work to earn an honest living. observer
Travel might involve fare dodging - and being manhandled by a "big bloke"!
Bill
Well we we got burgled, the bloke was from the road behind me so yes he didn't travel far. Bill
observer
That's what you call "local" enterprise!
Bazj
Well we we got burgled, the bloke was from the road behind me so yes he didn't travel far. Bill hope you ran him over and left him paralysed or at the very least smashed his hands with a hammer.......
Cleopatra
There was an occasion many years ago when a house in my sister's road was burgled. It took less than a minute for the police to solve who the burgler was. That night it had snowed and footprints led from the burgled house to that of the burgler just a couple of doors away. Stupid bu®gg(l)er!
Sheila_P
Leaflets from Cheshire Police have been posted through all the doors where I live today, advising on how to avoid being burgled!
Bill
Baz I might well have run over the buggar given half the chance but he'd nicked my car as well. It gave the locals something to laugh about, especially as I was the home watch co-ordinator at the time. Bill
Bazj
Did you find out who did it and where he lived? Because the latter of my two solutions would be good if you did!
Bill
As I said Baz, it wasn't a case of finding out who was involved, that was common knowledge and the police just had to wait till he slipped up. Eventually he did and was put pack into prison for a while. That was about fifteen years ago and he's probably been in and out of nick upteen times since then. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if this latest spate turned out to be the same bloke. Bill
Dizzy
Oooh is that classed as libel Bill Sadly at this time of the year the grots and opportunist scum bag thieves are probably out in force knowing that peoples homes are full of presents and other stuff. Might save on feeding quite a few dogs for a few days though
Bazj
mind you dizzy... the plus side is that we householders can now safely hand out our own instant justice if they do decide to burgle our houses!
Dizzy
.... unless some passer by, friend or family member videos it and posts it on youtube of course
observer
Wouldn't they have to be inside the house to do that?
Dizzy
Not necessarily Obs as it depends on where they are when you finally wack 'em
observer
Best "wacking them" at the top of the stairs, so they have a chance of breaking their necks on the way down!
Dizzy
If they bled on the carpet could you then claim for accidental damage on your house insurance
observer
Good idea!
Cleopatra
You might have a point there dizzy, girl, worth investigating just in case.
algy
If they bled on the carpet could you then claim for accidental damage on your house insurance No doubt the insurance company would only pay out if it was AB negative. Evil Sid
As a thought if you did whack a burglar could he then go to one of those "had an accident at work that was not your fault" companies.
