observer
Notice the Gov have cut the Winter Fuel Allowance - so perhaps the OAPs best add another jumper this year!

fugtifino
Oh, so now he's not so daft, eh? Â Like I said earlier, I'm not opposed, in principle, to nuclear, or any other source of energy, we just need to make it as clean and safe as possible. asperity
Stangely at a point where the rest of the world are rejecting the idea of nuclear energy!  Meanwhile in the real world  I think I've mentoned before that just because you say something doesn't make it true
Peter T
.. and Japan, and over 60% of a recent global public opinion poll. Â Â People didn't want the motor car either, nor that noisy steam train.
asperity
.. and Japan, and over 60% of a recent global public opinion poll. Â Â That would be the opinion poll that found 62% of 29000 people out of a total world population of what? 9 billion or so? Very representative I'm sure
observer
Think perhaps, the Japanese have first hand experience of these matters?!
asperity
The disaster in Japan actually proves how safe these nuclear installations are, except of course to those people who are scared of anything they don't understand
observer
Not the reason I oppose it. I've stated this before when we've had this same topic; the commissioning and de-commissioning costs are astronomical; and the waste storage requirement is a liability for succeeding generations. Much better imo, to utilise our natural resources, that we have in abundance.
asperity
So now we see your problem Obs, you didn't actually read Moonbat's article did you? Well maybe you ought to spend 5 minutes doing so and then come back pontificating about waste storage
