observer Posted June 17, 2011 Report Share Posted June 17, 2011 The internet isn't the issue SL; this woman discussed a case outside the confines of the Jury room, whether it was over the garden fence, by phone or facebook isn't the point. Yes the woman has been stupid and yes it may seem harsh but people on jury service are told exactly what they can and can't do in their role and the consequences of being found in contempt of court. She knew the rules and she ignored them so it's really her own fault. She should simply have said she could not be on the jury as she felt sorry for the defendant (or whatever) and this may affect her judgement.
