wolfie
Swings and roundabouts Baz. I can remember the time when it didn't matter if you served your apprenticeship at Fords, ICI or a back street garage. Once you had served your 5 years (4 years later on) you were classed as a tradesman regardless of the fact that the training in each establishment was worlds apart. I'm not a lover of NVQ's but any form of national accreditation is better than none.
observer
Ever watched "cowboy builders" Baz? That's why we need some form of standard accreditation and qualification.

Bazj
Sorry Wolfie, it should have read Union supported Scheme.... however when I asked the chap I was talking to on the phone who actually funded the CSCS scheme; he didn't know! observer
Baz, I didn't say current schemes are good; merely that "some form" of accreditation and qualification is required.
