harry hayes
No puns please. Harking back to the longevity thread I note that we can now have a funeral pyre. Suttee was apparently practised in India whereby the widow threw herself on her husbands pyre. Hmnn, interesting. this could address several topics we often have on discussion. happy days

Dizzy
I don't think 'we' can all have them Harry However as long as it is carried out in an open but 'controlled' environment as suggested and not where unsuspecting passers by are likely to see it happening (and of course that it is cleared up afterwards) then I don't have a problem with it
harry hayes
Just why cannot we all make fuels of ourselves (no pun rule temporarily suspended as it's my thread). Happy days
observer
Don't think there are any rules in the Hindu religion, that require open air funeral pyres; the normal crematorium would do - so yet another case of primitive practises being imported in the name of religion or culture. Can you even begin to imagine all the elf and sfety requirements for having an open fire at the crem???
