Tut Tut Mr Mayor.........

Recommended Posts

Took a trip to Warrington hospital tonight to visit my sick 86 year old mum..... bought my car park ticket for the 15th time in the past month

2j3mqrp.jpg

So imagine how BLOODY ANNOYED I WAS WHEN I SAW THIS 2yltyq8.jpg

Parked on a pedestrian flagged area (surely a breach of health and safety regulations to park a bloody two ton Jaguar on a footpath???)

Maybe Paul would like to ask his LibDem collegue why his official car could not park in the car park like everybody else has to do..... or is he and his driver above the rules that the rest of us have to obey?? maybe he couldn't afford the extortionate car park fees??

who knows. Anyway on leaving the hospital, the Jag had been turned around and the driver appeared to be fast asleep behind the wheel.... much to the amusement of lots of people coming out of the hospital!!

I would be interested in a response!!

Firstly and most importantly I hope your mums doing ok :wink:

But in response to the other part of your post I'M SHOCKED... !!

Your pictures come in the same week that WBC's own traffic blue coats ticketed two National Blood Service vans parked outside the Pyramid during a blood donation session

A Birchwood resident spotted the blues and took pictures of the ticketed vehicles. WBC were then reported as saying they would "cancelled the tickets on this occasion and no further action would be taken' :?::roll: I should blummin well think so as these vans are life savers and incidentally wouldn't apparently fit in the nearby car park spaces available !!!

As for the hospital car park charges I agree that the are extortionate especially when people are visiting their loved ones every day.

Anyway I digress SHAME ON YOU INDEED MR MAYOR AND/OR DRIVER !!!

It's not the first time though is it as I remember Mrs 'Previous' Mayor finished up in the press when the same car was parked on double yellows outside a local primary school rather than in the nearby FREE car park

Oh come on!! You can't expect the chosen few to be treated as members of the common herd!! They DO have standards to uphold you know, and shouldn't be expected to have to walk anywhere :shock::shock:

Oh and by the way don't expect things to improve until the revolution :lol::lol:

baz,

If the patient is long stay, you can take the first ticket of the week to the ward and get it stamped for all week. At least that is how it used to work. Ask next time you go in.

Maybe that the Hospital advised the driver to park it there??

Why would they do that :?:

I think you?ll find the process of getting you ticket stamped or signed still exists but they now charge you for doing it. (About ?13 a week I think)

You will find the parking charge information here:

It says to take your ticket to the cash office, wherever that is, and pay ?8 to cover the next 7 days.

A council spokesperson said: "On the evening in question the Mayor of Warrington was attending an official engagement at Warrington hospital and the vehicle was parked near to the entrance for the security of the civic regalia."

Oh well that's OK then.......... I guess I'll stick my car there tonight when I go to visit my mum because mrs Baz might have her Gucci watch on.....

What a load of old tosh. The Mayor should apologise and admit that they screwed up

But of course, politicians don't do that do they???

Surely the fact that the driver stayed with the vehicle was sufficient for the security of the civic regalia? In fact if he was that worried about its security, why didn't he take it with him to the "official engagement"? Either way parking on the pavement is a definite no!:shock:

I did, first thing this morning, and a press release has been made.

Perhaps the Mayor did take it (presumably they mean the chain) with him and as such it wasn't SAFE  for him to walk from the carpark to the main entrance and back again.

If that's the case then sense could have prevailed and the driver COULD have dropped him off right outside the door (where pictured)... then gone and parked in the car park... and waited for a call to say he was about to leave.. at which point the driver could have driven back to the main entrance and picked him up. Easy peasy :D

I can understand what they mean though and I'm sure many people, especially the elderly, feel a little vunerable when having to walk back to their cars in the dark.

Maybe they could start parking there too

PS is the chain made of solid gold  and how much is it worth

Well having read the socalled excuse and having been in the security branch for a while..i can safely say that thats codswollop, you would never oalce a vehicle anywhere near the place the VIP is being picked up as that gives the terrorist/attacker lots of time to plan an attack as now he knows at some stage the VIP is going to come out and get into the vehicle.. so security doesnt come into it..the car with the driver should be placed at a distance and when its required and only then he is called and told where to go and pickup the VIP..he shouldnt be at the pickup place for more then 1 minute for high risk VIPs less than 20 secs..

There is no reason why the car is parked where it is..other than being lazy..

So as far as i can see its lame excuse.

Codswallop just about covers it Steve, but this is the sort of thing we are getting from our elected representatives who are getting too big for their boots. A bit of exercise might do them good!:roll:

For the record, the car was empty (i.e. no driver anywhere to be seen) when I took the picture. It was only after I came out (a good 40 minutes or more later) that the driver was in the car..... and appeared to be asleep!!

How do we tell them that we are not happy with the excuse and He/They should apologise!!?

and also go back and buy a ticket for a goodwill gesture?

 You mean you didn't go and check him.... he could have been unconcious after being suffocated by all the sneaky smokers  ... or he may have already been mugged 8)

Just out of interest what time(s) did you see the car as it looks very dark on the pictures. Do the hospital usually have official engagements at night.. I guess they must do.

I suppose it's not really such a big deal that the car was parked there though and maybe we are all being a little OTT in our criticisms :?

It was during last nights visiting time (6:30 to 8:00) the photo was taken abot 7:00 and is dark because the Iphone has a crap camera!!!

and no he shouldn't have parked there, there is a huge car park to park cars in which everybody else has to do. just becauise he is the Mayor, it doesn't mean they can flout the rules.

Just about to go now so I wonder if it will be there tonight!

So we're being asked to believe that the Mayor, with a driver available if necessary to escort him from the car park to the door, was afraid to walk a couple of hundred yards with his chain of office on - when visitors to the hospital, many of whom are somewhat distracted and have other things on their minds at that point, are expected to make exactly the same walk with no such escort or assistance?

It's not just national politicians who have their heads so far up their own fundaments they've lost touch with reality, then.
