observer
Sailors tend to be butch, it's the Houshold Cavalry that tend to be femme; mind you I knew an RAF Corporal once who was a stunner in his dress!

Lt Kije
knew an RAF Corporal once who was a stunner in his dress! Did you find out before or after the proposal
observer
"kismet" LP or so they claim!
LymmParent
And THAT'S butch? It's a ruddy musical, complete with exotic costumes and Howard Keel at his campest and best!
observer
Errm no LP; kismet as in the old English word for "fate".
LymmParent
Well, Obs, I didn't ACTUALLY think Nelson was reminding Hardy to return the DVD they'd borrowed..... especially given that he died in 1805 and Kismet wasn't written until 1953.... Were you born with no sense of humour?
observer
Alas, a different one than yours!
LymmParent
Alas indeed - and kismet is a persian word.....
observer
Very good LP - you can give the pencils out now!
LymmParent
You're giving in? Well that's no ruddy fun, is it?!
observer
No LP, I find trivia boring.
Eagle
I can just imagine you two on the same quiz team, by the time you agree on the first answer everyone else would be on their way home.
LymmParent
No, week one I'd tell him and the rest of the team the right answer, but allow him to put his answers and get the lot wrong. Week two, the same. By week three, either he'd have caught on or the rest of the team would have shot him and buried his body under the beer garden! Win-win situation!! Lt Kije
Lp I do beleive you have found Obs out and he is sulking
LymmParent
I hope not - he's a fine and respected opponent. Knows how to argue most infuriatingly and provoke without stepping over the line into disrespect or abuse. Taking him on is excellent fun. I can honestly say that he's one of the finest features of this Forum. Although I am a little disturbed by the fact he's been picturing me in thongs lately.... but maybe he does that with everyone on here! observer
Nice attempt to stir the pot Kyje; but afraid your not in the same league. As for LP, we finally drifted round in circles and eventually returned to Bridge St - with or without her thong!
Lt Kije
You two must be related
LymmParent
Ooooh, how very dare you! If we were related, his thoughts on my thongs from the Bridge Street thread would be distinctly improper. We just both like a good debate. He likes starting them and provoking people; I like a good clean scrap without any real tempers flaring. It's fun.
Peter T
At least we now know what makes you tick. Welcome to the banter and wind-up forum. you will fit in really well, and the training is coming along ok.
LymmParent
At least we now know what makes you tick. Welcome to the banter and wind-up forum. you will fit in really well, and the training is coming along ok. I'm definitely more banter than wind-up, but as for training, I do feel I've got Obs sorted on the basics now. To be honest though, I'm not seeing the progress from you that I'd like at this stage......
Peter T
Sorry to disappoint, but my mind is my own and is not nor cannot be influenced by outside influences. But you're welcome to try. PS. Punctuation, spelling and grammar are all the same family.
