Geoffrey Settle
No but we used the one in Newton and everything went like clockwork.
asperity
Suprisingly enough funerals usually do. Undertaking must be the oldest profession in the world, so they should be getting the hang of it by now. The point is that once you're dead the cost of the funeral shouldn't be of any concern to you! Geoffrey Settle
Very true and you can take that attitude, but maybe just maybe you might like to ease the burden of those who you leave behind and plan ahead.
asperity
They can chuck my mortal remains in landfill if they want, it won't make the slightest bit of difference to me. Mind you that would probably be against some EU regulation or other.
observer
"Ease" what "burden" Geoff? Relatives will be circuling your home and assets like vultures ready to pounce - perhaps they should work for it, same as you had to?
Geoffrey Settle
True but then that always happens anyway, hence the importance of making a will so that your assets are distributed in the way you want them to be given out. The will should act as a gun to shoot down those vultures.

observer
Geoff, ever thought of just spending it - no pockets in shrouds and all that!
Geoffrey Settle
Yes I used to think that way - it's the Yorkshireman in my namesake. Once my family came along I started to mellow. Just a tad.

Geoffrey Settle
No worries - where there's a WILL there's a better chance way foward for those you leave behind - be they vultures or not. Â However if you could give a fig because your six feet under or you ashes are blowing in the wind then so be it.
Eagle
A swift proof reading could have made that post make sense.
observer
Geoff, if you make your death an attractive/lucrative proposition for those "you leave behind"; they may be inclined to see you off early!
