Rockcutting
I, for one, would love to hear Ian Tracey playing the Cavaille-Coll Organ in the Parr Hall. With this in mind I have looked at the "Pyramid and Parr Hall" website and have found that Ken Dodd is performing on the 12th of this month, followed by Everybody’s favourite northern comedian, Jason Manford (who seems to be famous, but I don't know ). The organ recital would be very interesting to me, and many of my friends but it is not publicised
Davy51
May be a go ahead modernising town like Warrington will replace the organ with Rolf Harris stylophone .

Hill Cliffe walker
Culture Warrington said that advertising material would be ready at the end of October, 2013. If the Organ Recital publicity could be improved - that would be a good thing. There are many aids to giving publicity for such Recitals and I hope to take advantage of them. Dizzy
Has it not been played since the 2011 recital you mentioned Hill Cliffe Walker ?
Evil Sid
I suppose you could always organise a tea dance there on a weekly basis. with the rise of all these dancing reality shows might just take off. must be at least one afternoon a week when the hall is not being used for anything. Hill Cliffe walker
The Warrington Male Voice Choir have approx 3 - 4 Concerts a year in the Parr Hall, and the Organ is played as part of their programme. The dates for their Christmas Concerts are 20th and 21st December, 2013. It is expensive to hire the Parr Hall, and costing of anything there is always an important aspect of promoting its use. Culture Warrington is sustained by a combination of external funding and income generation. The charitable trust is limited by guarantee, and any surplus income is reinvested in improving facilities and services of Culture Warrington. The importance of the Parr Hall, and its management, should not be overlooked. Our Cavaille-Coll Organ is still inspiring musicians, so it is must be regarded as 'the jewel in the Crown' of our Heritage. David Wells Organ Buider, has looked after it for most of his career. If looked after on a regular basis, we should be able to promote many more Recitals. Some of those who made the effort to be there in June, 2011 had travelled some considerable distance to be there on the night.
Hill Cliffe walker
I have just asked the Parr Hall team to include the date of the March, 2014 Recital in their list of upcoming events. All other events either side of this date are advertised.
