Observer II
What's your favourite "nuke" movie ?  Perhaps number one would be Peter Sellars playing three parts in that dark comedy , a close number two for me, would be Gregory Peck in "the Beach"(?). Wonder why the kids of those days didn't all finish up with mental issues ?   😉
asperity
Doctor Strangelove, or how I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb. A classic. Who says I don't have mental issues? 😱
Observer II
Not when we were young Asp, just lately when we can't remember things, like the name of a film ! 😉
Latchford Locks
 The Day After.. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0085404/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_3  This was about the best(if thats how to describe the end of civilisation) that I remember.   There was was also Threads set in Sheffield. If I think ; it was banned for a while as it may have caused to much fear in the country at that time.Due to Greenham Common and other similar issues of the day. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0090163/
Latchford Locks
 Further to my comment on Threads  https://www.bbc.com/culture/article/20190925-was-threads-the-scariest-tv-show-ever-made

I always thought it trivialised the whole subject And was more of a platform for Peter Sellers to show himself as the versatile actor he purported to be. Observer II
I watched most of these on my NBC course; but there was one shown on BBC about a terrorist biological attack, which mirrored our current plight; with the exception of red crosses being painted on the doors of those infected.   😷
asperity
It was a black comedy Latch, so looking to satirise the political situation at the time rather than trivialise it.
Observer II
Believe Sellars had the cast in stitches with the German scientist, needed loads of re-takes !  😉
