First game back for the Wire yesterday against HKR. After Wire, as is their custom, allowed Hull to score the first try in the first minute (Hull tried a short kick off tactic, that they used a few times during the game), the game settled down to a competition to see who could make the fewer errors. After 20 minutes, however, Wire settled down and took control going in at half time leading 12-4. The second half was all Wire with them running in a further 5 tries, Hull only managing one late consolation converted try. Final score 40-10 to Warrington. Both sides looked understandably rusty after the long lay off. HKR look to be in deep mire at the bottom of the table, having only managed 2 points from their 7 games so far.
