Observer II
- on public transport ! The CMO is recommending banning eating food on public transport, as part of an anti-obesity drive. Perhaps they should just ban eating altogether ? ! The world gets dafter by the minute.
asperity
The CMO will have to prise my Tuesday morning cheese and ham baguette from my cold dead hand 🤬🤬🤬
Evil Sid
Well that will put a crimp in the buffet car profits, but could save you a few bob on your air fare as they you not have to pay for an in flight meal.May help with the carbon footprint of air flights as well. they will only need to provide drinks, so less weight for the plane to carry which means less fuel used. (will also mean a quicker turn around as they will not have to unload and load food containers on board flights.) Wonder how coach tours will manage will that mean extra stops for a butty break? Latchford Locks
Seriously; This must rate as one of the dafter ideas from government this year. Forget the wars in Syria/Yemen etc and malnutrition across swathes of Africa and Asia Lets concentrate our resources banning butties on trains 🥴
Observer II
Perhaps if they brought back PT in schools and encouraged school sports, and kids were made to walk or cycle to school they would get the exercise necessary to burn off excess calories. Meanwhile, basic nutritional and cooking lessons for kids and their parents, may allow them to actually cook a healthy meal, instead of living on junk food.
Confused52
That CMO is about to retire, it is her last chance to engage in her scare mongering. Let us hope the next incumbent is less addicted to making the public miserable.
