Wire v Wakefield 21.06.19

Recommended Posts

Trinity came out of the blocks like they meant business, And they caught the Wire cold, scoring with their first attack. After Warrington recovered from the initial shock, however, they took control and, despite some strange refereeing decisions, finished 30-06 winners. Blake Austin scored another of his trademark tries, running in from 20 metres practically unopposed, and was named MoM yet again. But it was a good team performance without many of the errors/stupid penalties that tend to plague the Wire performances. The big one next Friday against runaway league leaders St Helens, a good performance required in this home tie!

Yes I feared the worst after the opening 10 to 15 minutes but we slowly played our way into the contest and took control and never looked like losing.

I thought Daryl Clark was man on the match and agreed that the referee made some very strange decisions....

Still worrying how inconsistent the team is - and while they may reach finals again they are going to have to go some to beat Saints and hope they catch them on an off day - Wigan starting to get back on track as well.
