Thought it was a Japanese version of some song I'd heard before but it's probably the original just firing up some almost forgotten memories.

Nice tune though.

I remember it from my youth (it was probably played a lot on Far East radio stations when I was on ships out there in the 60s). If you read the comments underneath it hit a chord with a lot of people in the West.

I thought I'd heard it somewhere else. It's all coming back now because I distinctly remember rattling the bars of my cot to Kenny Ball's version.

30 minutes ago, Dizzy said:

I've never heard it before....but I was only born in the 60's  :D

What does that mean though Dizzy? Have you not heard anything by Mozart, Beethoven, Ravel, Glen Miller? There is so much music out there but people are obsessed by what is "popular" today. I came across this particular song and remembered hearing it "when I were a lad" out in the Far East and it struck a chord, which is what music should do.  I think that we have lost the knack of it today somehow, if recent song contests are anything to go by................................................................................................

I'm not that old, I was born in the very early 50s. So still alive :D
