Geoff that is no different in practice when you have a baying mob like Momentum and unions threatening to with draw funding like they did in the Birmingham Mayoral election. Labour in Warrington was not a good role model either in my view since it was riddled with cliques. If you really want to be democratic then use open Primaries where Momentum cannot rig the result with intimidation or anything else and the unions have to take the public's choice. I expect that you can required voters to register as supporters but not members (an essential change to move away from the current position). Oh and forget the vetting because it looks like vote rigging. Without that set of changes it is just a putsch driven by the Socialist Workers Party and hangers on, whilst being encouraged and tweaked by the unions. Eventually even the students might notice what is going on if it turns up on facebook enough!

Well I did physically stop Unite forcing their way into the members building and then we called the Police when they were supporting the TUSC man if that counts?

Agree.  Don't think folk realise what they've done. We're now in a worse position to negotiate Brexit, and likely to finish up with a bad humiliating deal, assuming we don't renege on the referendum decision and stay in the EU.  The notion that we can somehow stay in the single market AND exclude free movement is pure fantasy. So staying in the single market literally means staying in the EU, if a Norwegian model, it means staying in the EU (and paying through the nose) without any political input. Not to mention the interference of the European Court of Justice.  Makes one despair of democracy.

I sometimes wonder what planet these Remainers are on: they keep harping on about "the single" market, but we don't get that for free, it's part of our membership fee, the money we're hoping to save with Brexit. Any form of association with the single market will cost us money plus the retention of "free movement". So these fancifull ideas about a "soft" Brexit, are simply that - soft.
