Sha
Despite the Polls and 6 to 1 odds for Hilary Clinton, Donald Trump has won the USA election. Is the result really such a surprise? Disenchantment with the establishment spreading across the world.
Bazj
No surprise at all.... the only people who seem to be surprised are the ones who always think that their opinion is right and everyone else who doesn't agree with them is some kind of racist imbecile.... Stallard12
I'm right in the middle of it here and I can tell you that this result is the only thing that stopped America from sliding into an abyss. The Clintons are political hacks who have lied and cheated their way to power and fortune. Most politicians are bent, but these two have taken abuse of power to a new level. With a Republican Justice Dept. and State Dept., she will probably go to jail on the evidence available now, not counting what will be unearthed by the new administration, I hear on this Forum about how disgusted most people are with the government, now the American people have gotten off their asses and done something about it. I don't know if Trump will be a good President, only time will tell, but you can allay any fears of an out of control person in the White House. Outside the political posturing, everyone says that Trump is a level headed, well balanced person with both feet on the ground. His business acumen and negotiating skills are undoubted, to make a billion dollars twice is no mean feat - the first time he was torpedoed by the decline of casino gambling. At last I think that my tax dollars may be spent wisely.
observer
Way to go Tex ! Seems it's a global revolution, with the white working class rebelling against a PC liberal establishment that has taken them for granted for decades. Davy51
I had a feeling right from the outset that Trump would be the next President. not that i would have put money on it, but he seemed outrageous enough to appeal to his electorate. It is just a pity that the end campaign on both sides has been soured enough by personal attacks that have obscured any actual future policies. I am sure many Americans don't even know what they have voted for.
observer
I think they know exactly what the voted against Dave !
Davy51
I think result has probably been decided by who voters hate the most Obs.
observer
The vote has been decided, as with Brexit, by the white working class, who's votes have been taken for granted for decades, without anything being delivered to them, by liberal careerist political establishments. In fact, quite the opposite: they've seen their jobs go abroad, their free speech threatened by calls of racists, when they object to the uncontrolled invasion of their Nations by uninvited migrants. Hopefully, this revolution will now show itself in France with FN and Germany with the AfD, and elsewhere.

Stallard12
Boy, do I feel good today or what. With a Republican President and a Republican Congress, I think that we have seen the last of transgender bathrooms in high schools and the rest of that liberal rubbish. I hope that I don't die for at least another four years so that I can see Trump appointing three or four conservative Justices to the Supreme Court and watch the screaming and wailing of the Democratic party as everyone of Obama's illegal actions are overturned. Obama has just been on tv, he doesn't give a damn about Hillary Clinton, he just spent an hour moaning about how badly he has been treated by the people because he now has no legacy - selfish egotist that he is, so detached from reality.
observer
Without wishing to deflate your euphoria Tex; Trump will have to be held accountable for his promises, principly the deportation of ALL illegal migrants. Why? Because these illegal migrants, if allowed to stay, will out- breed and will eventually out-vote the indigenous population. Thus the policies for the future need to be carefully calculated. As a pragmatist, I've no doubt Don will tend to do that, but to some of his more extreme supporters this may seem like selling out. As for global security and peace, he has a window with the Russians to start a co-operative attack on Muslim extremism, rather than a confrontational return to the cold war. asperity
Apparently the US Election was only "Advisory" and the real result hangs on a vote in Congress, when Queen Hillary will be found to be true ruler of the Universe. Apparently. According to the BBC, who is never wrong about anything. Apparently.
Freeborn John
Whatever next, the mandate from the voters over ruled by three judges?Naw, that's just too unbelievable.

observer
Well, generation wimp are certainly spitting their dummies out . I used to worry what kind of world we were leaving them: not anymore, these naïve spoilt brats are well on the way to trashing it themselves. Mind you. when that cohort of grumpy old white males has died off, these snowflakes will have free rein to really screw things up, or maybe by then, they'll have accrued enough wisdom to replicate the grumpies themselves, or maybe not. Davy51
Since the advent of social media the organisation of wholesale protest seems almost instant & the street protests were in place before the result was a day old. Despite the euphoria surrounding Trump's election, it will be interesting to see the reaction to his far reaching policies this time next year. Dizzy
Gawd how utterly pathetic. Whenever there is an election of any sort (or referendum <cough cough>) regardless of which way the vote goes there will always be some that are totally p'd off by the result. That's life, people are given the right to vote...they voted.... end of...move on !
observer
Totally agree Diz: just walked out of watching Q/Time, due to snowflakes trying to gainsay the democratic vote of the US electorate; and the liberal media are still pushing this luvvie fest for all it's worth. FACT: "Trump was elected", get over it. The more I hear from these naïve idiots, the less I can believe the polarised state of Western societies is reconcilable.
